GMK / Cherry doubleshot modifier packs (complete?)

I'm sorry to say it, but purple modifiers are so gay ...
If they had been white on blue, I would have ordered in an instant, though. Would go well together with Triump-Adley keys, I think.

If you import caps into the eu, you only pay vat, no other taxes

For the UK:-

Goods
Don't have to pay Excise Duty
May have to pay Customs Duty on goods with a value that exceeds £135
Will have to pay import VAT on goods with a value that exceeds £15

Gifts
Don't have to pay Excise Duty
Customs Duty is payable if the value of the gift exceeds £135, but will be waived if the amount of duty is £9 or under
Import VAT is payable if the value of the gift exceeds £36

Duty
As far as I can tell they'd come under commodity code 3926100000 (39 Plastics and articles thereof 26 Other articles of plastics and articles of other materials of headings 3901 to 3914 10 00 00 Office or school supplies) which incurs a duty of 6.50%

VAT
Currently 20%. VAT is payable on the duty and on the declared cost of postage!

Handling Fee
Added to all of this is an £8 handling fee by Royal Mail if they have to apply either of the dutys or collect VAT... the one mercy is that they don't seem to charge VAT on the handling fee... or its included already

VAT isn't just a consumer tax, it's a profit tax too, buy something(s) at £100, pay £20VAT, if you're a VAT registered business you get to claim this back. Sell it to a consumer for £250 charge £50VAT - the government gets this. The longer the chain, the more the government wins.

That's depends on the tax policy for the goods, I looked it up and as far as I understand it's 48% duty for bicycles from China

But you are probably right computers seems to have 0% duty to EU

Unfortunately, none of my lesbian friends appreciate mechanical keyboards. ;)

Personally, I don't use compact boards, so I also require cursor keys and nav cluster in the same colour scheme. I don't want to mix and match too many colours/styles on the same board. The big thing that I liked with the purple mod kit, though is that it has 1-unit blanks for the bottom row - no effing stars or windoze symbols.
I might give in if the MOQ is close to not being reached, though ... if that is what it takes to avoid GMK being unhappy with the community.

Many other people have voiced the desire for matching cursor, nav, numpad and F keys. Assuming this is successful I will run that in the next buy and will likely include them in the future.

Will only be the modifiers included which are visible in the picture?

Also: Will it be the same Violett as the keycaps on this keyboard:

Would be nice to include a complete set which some extra keys for different keyboards.

Thanks for the pointer - I think I've found it now... 8469009100

Section XVI
Machinery and mechanical appliances; electrical equipment; parts thereof, sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (chapters 84 to 85)
84
Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof
69
Typewriters other than printers of heading 8443; word-processing machines
Other

It was the grandeur of the first two parts of section 16 that threw me, "Nuclear reactors, boilers" I felt there was no way keyboards would be under that!

It's much more lenient as well - 2.30%

Well found, That's much better. Though why they can't just list "Automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, not elsewhere specified or included" as computer and miscellaneous is beyond me... legalese?

I'll get my personal water displacement and thermal retention device.

Maybe the Demongolator should come by and split this up into "Customs Discusstion" and "GMK / Cherry doubleshot modifier packs (taking orders)".

The output is from my configure script.

First the missing packages must be installed. Then the kits can be compiled (run make), once the configure script terminates without error messages. Then run make install as root to submit the order ...

Yes it is same purple as the handarbeit. I made it a point to include as many sizes for common keys on popular boards as possible. The only one I feel a tiny bit bad about leaving out is the 1unit backspace for our JIS friends. Not every key and size for every random obscure board ever made is reasonable for an initial buy to get a relationship with GMK established. I wanted some sets that were comprehensive for most people without costing €300 for only modifiers pack. If things go well and more than 5 people want something to be made we can look into some of those more obscure keys maybe next time.

Same purple as Handarbeit? So the color on the Handarbeit picture is more accurate that the sample picture?

IvanIvanovich

16 Mar 2013, 22:36

GMK did thier best to colormatch from the photo. Without having both in front of me in real life I can't say it is a 100% identical but it should be extremely close.
I will try and get some additional better photos up later as well as finishing the mock ups.

asura

18 Mar 2013, 10:27

Doubled up to four sets of CMYK, will double to two of the others later if it becomes necessary.

Come on guys; if this doesn't happen then the only GMK sets we'll see will be US ANSI from originative - which considering the sets he says he's planning to offer seems a poorly chosen name... :p

IvanIvanovich

19 Mar 2013, 01:30

I certainly appreciate the efforts of some to make this happen. I just fear it won't be enough.
Finally got some mock ups posted to the OP. Hoping it will bring some more interest now that it has a representation of what sets consist of.

Yes, I have asked a few time for someone that have account on kbdmania, otd, etc to post about it. I can't seem to make account there and it takes 17 years to even load the websites so I have had no patience to look and see if it is there already.

there is a post about it in the GB section there:
http://www.kbdmania.net/xe/market_info/6181946

its just a copy/paste of your original 1st post at GH on it. so doesn't have the newer mock ups and stuff
