I don't quite understand what the difference is between the Rollermouse Free and Station Pro. Both of them seem to have a bar that moves both laterally and around its axis to move the mouse cursor. Still the bar on the Station Pro looks quite a bit different. I did read the descriptions, but I they were a bit ambiguous. Can someone explain the differences?

The Rollermouse Free is the more modern product. It is great that one can get rid of that stupid wrist rest. Also, it seems to have more knobs, which is always better.

Another advantage is that the roller-bar is much longer, so you can operate it from all keyboard positions.
Here is the Roller mouse Pro:

The roller bar is only reachable within an area which is approx. as large as a normal space bar.
The scroll wheel is only a conventional one, not that big easy to operate one at the Roller Mouse Free.

Thanks for the clarification, 7bit. This makes me wonder, though, who in their right mind would want the Pro version...

Don't poo-poo the Rollermouse Pro...it's quite nice. A couple things to consider: You will usually have your thumb or fingers at the central point of the bar anyhow, and, you can be "off the desk" if you choose with the Pro (on your lap, or lounging).

I have had both units and was surprised that the Free didn't "eclipse" the Pro like I thought it would. They are both almost equally fantastic. Employees and friends have "borrowed" my units, most of them are in the process of buying their own. That is a strong statement for a $200 item.

But I like the way with more wikiposts, creates more written knowledge so less people creates posts about someting that comes up 100times a week (GH anyone?)

The keyboard support webwit mentions is what allows you to have the Rollermouse Pro "off the desk" that I had mentioned. I travel and take the Pro so I can lounge in hotel beds and use the unit with my Kinesis. Not for everybody, but I prefer it, and it does have merit. By no means is it "obsolete".

Judging by the videos I found on Youtube, they both have that feature. Also, the Rollermouse Free2 seems to have adjustable DPI.
