I'm waiting for a response on the GH60 GB thread but I would like some of this layouts:
You can use original Cherry keys or DSA Retro sets.

I'm guessing this will kick into gear after R4 is sorted and shipped. Probably in a month or so.mSSM wrote:We need some sexy updates! What's happening with this thing?

Hey, i didnt read through all the thread, but the HyperMicro dont need any stabs right? doesnt look there is any key longer than 1.25 to me.
another thing though, through Teensy 2, i can still program the keys around right? i can only use the space bar with my right thumb....

The HyperMicro PCB is intended for a lot of layouts, including 6.25 and 7 units space bars.Poom wrote:Hey, i didnt read through all the thread, but the HyperMicro dont need any stabs right? doesnt look there is any key longer than 1.25 to me.

You can indeed program the teensy to whtever you like.
But the space bar can also be used with your left thumb (if it exists ).

I think you should post this in the keyboards forum, because I'm not the expert for springs. I'm only an expert to sell stuff (rolling deadline etc.)

Mh, I've wondered, does anybody use a Fn key right of the right shift on a daily basis? How do you cope with it being (seemingly) so far out of the way? Is your second layer located closely around the Fn key or below the left hand?
I got kinda used to the Poker right Alt Fn location, and think about moving it next to a short left shift for custom layouts to fit in a 7x Spacebar. The lower right part of the keyboard seems like and odd location though. Maybe it's my mistake not to give those keys more love…
(I think this without the right Fn should be my favourite 60% layout :D)

The HHKB users should be able to tell you, as that's its default location for function.
The HHKB arrows seem smart to me. I'm currently working on layers for my PC/XT Model F which, among many other oddities, has a short right shift and a button just there for trying likewise.

Yes, it's the little finger function key. The arrows aren't quite home row, but they are nicely laid out when your hand reaches down that way. Then your left hand is free to hit combos of whatever modifiers you require. For instance, I frequently do Shift + Option (Alt) + left / right to select groups of words. Should be pretty slick on HHKB. And maybe this huge but just as arrow keyless Model F!

I had a few issues with the original design:
1. I did not see a point in having a scroll wheel and a trackpoint. That's one of the things that they're awesome at (and it increases the cost/complexity)
2. I don't see a reason to rearrange the control/alt/meta keys.
3. You don't need two backspaces, Might as well use the key for more functionality.
4. I love page up/down!

It's programmable anyway, any qHACK layout you see here is just an example.
