No. It sometimes takes awhile for 7bit to run it.tjcaustin wrote:Also, should I be worried that I haven't received a confirmation email from the bot?

I got my keys yesterday, YAY!!
But I can't try them out just yet since I'm going away over the weekend.
I'll take some pics and report about errors on sunday or monday.

Those sphericals look so nice, i very much regret not getting any.
7bit, I rechecked the thread and I saw my order on what I think is the packaged list but none of the shipped lists (the list is from may so even if that was shipped it should have been here by now). Can you let me know what the status of my order (0690) is?

Now I have assembled the RETRO set, all the keys seem to be there, no problems there. But the text is IMPOSSIBRUUU to see.
The board looks damn good now tho. Might even make it to my Filco with silver alu case.

My camera actually shows how they look IRL, your pic with a flash right on the caps does not look as it does IRL.7bit wrote:It is only your camera!

Maybe, some percentage of people who ordered RETRO keys is colorblind?

Maybe, but I'm not one of them.7bit wrote:Maybe, some percentage of people who ordered RETRO keys is colorblind?
Ah well, the keys look amazing anyway, but I have to say that I'm a little disappointed.
Over a year of waiting and I get keys with text just as visible as the black on black Topre caps.
BUT, I really appreciate the work you have done 7-bit, and it is not your fault that the keys don't look like in the pics. It's SP. So please, don't take this as bad criticism!

huttala that board looks sexy, not being able to read the keys is a small price to pay
7bit: thanks for the update! Looking forward to getting my fingers on these

Low contrast legends are always tricky. What colours you see depend on the available light. A bright camera flash will pop them out a bit, but who works in a studio bright environment?
Even if you're not colourblind (which I'm not affected by, either) your eyes see contrast easier than they see colour. You brain resolves contrast first and figures in colours at a later stage. This has been explored and exploited heavily in photography and video processing. Sensors in still and video cameras use a Bayer filter of green-red-green-blue to emphasise contrast sensitivity and better match how we see. Black & white photography might never have worked at all if we didn't happen to see in this two-step system.
So high contrast legends ftw! White caps. Black Helvetica.

Ah, well. At least the dark gray caps look really good.Muirium wrote:Low contrast legends are always tricky. What colours you see depend on the available light. A bright camera flash will pop them out a bit, but who works in a studio bright environment?

150€ and 1 year + waiting time for some nice looking mods ain't too bad.
(ps, just tried some programming in dim lightning and it's really hard to hit the right caps since I can't see shit of the white caps).
