2834 clicky (966 in stock)
2412 tactile (1388 in stock)
I must pretend I like the clicky one much more as well.
However, there exist keyboards with superb tactile Alps switches.

Pretend? Why? I agree to your pretense though. A little bit too stiff for me, but a nicer click and less hysteresis than MX blue.7bit wrote:I must pretend I like the clicky one much more as well.
Too bad they used the wrong pin layout and form factor, I would have liked them on an ErgoXYZ.

Exactly. Wrong = not a Cherry MX clone? Or am I missing something?
I like the Matias form factor. Classic Alps, and better than many of the original and classic clone switches not least as Matias are available brand new. I wish more manufacturers would go with Matias, for a bit of variety. But at any rate, there's some great caps out there that will only take Alps mount.

Good question.
I'm thinking about making a clicky Matias custom, depending on Matt3o's progress with his. Hand wired, though.

How do I make an address change? I want to do that before I make payment. I change address like every 6 months. Have to keep the authorities guessing.

Switches arrived today. Thanks! I plan to put these on an Apple IIGS board. Hopefully the pins are in the same place as Orange Alps. Looks like they are and things should work. We'll see.

tempted to order a bunch of switches, and if that group buy for Alps sphericals ever happens, I am certainly interested ! And if that would include an option to have blank caps for at least the alpha portion of the keys, that would be competely fantastic...

ordered ... I think.
Do I PM your bot a physical address at or about the time I pay?
The email address should be my paypal addr not the account used to activate my forum account (since they're different) ?
EDIT: looks like I guessed right. Money is en route, thus prompting the ubiquitous
I WILL ASK THE BOT WHERE MY SWITCHES ARE! :o #0440
even if I know you're not magic, any updates when you have them would be lovely.
