white alps under an Alps branded protective membrane...interesting^^.
Sadly, the membrane does reduce the crisp tactile feel of the white alps considerably.

This is a tank. First thought: I can beat someone to death with it. After googling, it turns out I actually could. This sucker is designed to withstand 3G in use and up to 20G in storage position. The case is made from a cool aluminium alloy titled 6063-T6.

it would be a full computer, but I only have the case, flatscreen-monitor, and keyboard. Ive been daydreaming about modding it a little and building a mitx rig into this this... but that would be a good bit in the future, way too busy at the moment.

yep milspec of course. "rugged portable workstation"

switches feel great, tactile bump and click like a model m. Actuates a little tiny bit higher if im feeling this right. Only beef I have with this board is that the space bar tends to stick if hit off center. maybe some lube in the stabilizer will help.

That is actually a common aluminium alloy for machining. Not really exotic. A great material, though. I have done several trinkets in it, by hand, as I haven't had access to fancy machines.

You know now that you've got it, you're going to have to find somewhere that'll let you take the computer onto a G-Force centrifuge so you can see if it (or you) can work at 3G+

I know myself well enough to know I wont be opening the switches up...I weould lose half of it in an instant. By the way does anyone have 1 cherry clear spring they could send me? I took apart a clear switch and sproooooooooing, it was gone.

Considering I've been using BS and blues for the past few weeks I miss the tactility a lot. The ergonomic positioning of the hands is nice and I think I could get used to it if i force myself to. Fact is im simply too lazy to do that^^. They feel close to cherry blacks.

Marquardt switches sadly do not age very well. For some reason they seem to be very open (hah- literally) to dust introducing the switch case. The ones on mine make nasty noises by now.
