Don't forget the descriptions and image categorisation — it would be a pity to have to disqualify you ;-)

Well, half an hour after the finish:

Of course I like this one best:
It was either that or a cliffhanger of a bolt mod gallery. Spoiler: no bolts!
I blame this entirely on (my misunderstanding of) time zones.

Yeah I figured you'd mistaken UTC for BST.

Isn't BST (daylight saving time) one hour *ahead* of UTC? So midnight UTC = 1 am in BST?
Anyway, I'm just off to clutch at some straws over here and grumble…

Actually I believe you are correct. Sorry about that — so your entries are all valid after all. (Somewhere in the back of my mind I knew something wasn't right with 23:59 GMT, but I couldn't figure out what it was.)
Competition is now REALLY closed :)
Edit: Sorry, actually, they're not. From having only looked at Special:Recent changes, I didn't realise that all the imagedesc templates were wrong, and aren't parsing due to not making any sense.
Given that you cannot preview the description of an image prior to uploading, if I am uncertain about the syntax for the description, I whack open another page's edit box, paste in the code, preview and correct it, and then paste it back. I'd have given you a heads up about the mistake if I'd picked up on it before 1 am.
The Displaywriter images aren't even in the competition category.
