I assume this is on topic on this forum...

I got some new monitor arms that support rotating the screens, and it looks completely ridiculous  Check it out:

Those are 21" screens @ 1050 x 1680, and you could make the case that rotated like this they're just too high. I'm fiddling with the height to see if it can be made to work. For now, I especially like the layout for code work (horizontally split emacs screen) and it actually makes some sense to have browsers / documents in this layout too.

Other interesting factoids: I'm running Debian with the i3 window manager on Xorg/nouveau where you can change the rotation on the fly using something like "xrandr --output 'name of display' --rotate left".

Looks odd but maybe useful
you're running debian on a i CPU and it does support double screen and rotating ...
Very nice

By the way what is your trackball ?

The trackball is a Kensington Expert Mouse 4. It's OK, not great, but it's extremely hard to find a great trackball.

What did you mean by "i CPU"?

I just have one screen on may steup but i plan to add another one, it's an ubuntu/debian double boot machine and double screen support is a ust have ;-)

I'm not using an i3 CPU; it's a Core2 Duo. i3 in my post is the name of a window manager. IMO one of the best tiling window managers out there.

Nice setup. I've been using it at work since mid-January. I'd prefer 3, but I'll bug IT later for that.

I use Awesome WM with Arch Linux in general (this pic was taken right before I wiped IT's version of Windows 7).
Along with my Desko with modified Zenith cupped double-shot keycaps and my CST L-Trac (3200 DPI).

I use the R600 drivers for the opensource ati driver.

The fact that you watch porn with that desktop background disturbs me.

How about this one?

Furries in the center. Panda-r posts on the right. Naked woman poster above the monitor. Who KNOWS what's going on underneath.

I'd definitely recommend selling the pair for a single 30" 2560x1600 monitor if you can. You don't have the issues associated with multi-monitor setups, the subpixels are properly oriented, so things look better. Only then, once you need more space than that, would I go multi-monitor. (and either do what Ripster has done, or get a second 30")

1x30" costs > 1000€, 2x22" >220€. I see there a problem for the financially challenged.

It's a standing setup, and in my experience, I like the monitors a little higher compared to the desk top when standing. Though I did move the monitors down a little after I took that picture.
