I could do it right now. Just put "no one likes alps switches - that's all you need to know."

I wonder what's more confusing - that or Cherry Corp. product codes?

The coolest thing to do is combine both. That is material for a few head explosions right there.keyboardlover wrote:I wonder what's more confusing - that or Cherry Corp. product codes?
These are real btw. Apparently Cherry made them for Taiwanese OEMs which were too poor to re-tool their keycap machines when ALPS switches died out.

I have no clue. Even the KBC guys have no further info besides that story and the pics. I believe the entire batch was for sale on taobao once, but the guy keeping the KBC "wiki" or rather "info thread" did not manage to get one to disassemble.

Agreed. I like the format a lot. Done correctly it could offer a much more user friendly experience than GH's wiki.

Test: [wiki]Cherry MX[/wiki] are nice switches
Edit: Works! Made a BBCode tag that turns words into wiki links, can safe some typing/looking up stuff when we refer to the wiki in normal forum posts.
Example
automatically turns into the full link - http://deskthority.net/wiki/Cherry_MX

Started some basic pages like these:

Some fanboys should continue to fill them with info, in the meantime everyone do the dinosaur!

Not even gonna ask what you searched for to find that on Google images. That got me weird looks from my coworker again. Its funny, I can browse porn fine, but that instantly raises eyebrows.

Believe me, it stops being interesting once you get to work on the first fatgirls or gay sex website. Worst part is, I mostly do translations/proof reading and organization, so I have to read quite some nasty stuff.bugfix wrote:That sounds rather interesting...sixty wrote:A web agency. I would say 40% of our work is porn sites, so no wonder barely anyone cares

I'll gladly write the Alps plate spring article. Maybe the low-profile Alps switches if poked enough. Does this count? Also I have a feeling we will have to set a prize for the one who writes the ALPS article, lol. No one seems to dare to even touch that naughty business. Don't wanna climb those mountains.
