Nice work. I like them all, with the one omission being chevron Control; of course.
The stroke widths match the main alpha legends, right?

width matches the main alpha width, yes. even though I still have to find the final font size, but, like I said, we can work on perfectioning the legends while the GB is on-going.

more updates on the nerdom kit. Unfortunately I will probably have to remove the thundercats logo (the lines are too thin) and also the Amiga A if I can't find the "real" logo.

you sure about that? seems quite different. It seems more a revised version of Times New Roman.
Anyway attached a version with Bodoni XT.
I've been able to fix the thundercats logo, so we can probably keep it. The only problematic one is probably DOS, time for a duck?

Yes! Also, the "flyer" shape from the Game of Life is truncated and probably best replaced with something else, too. Like maybe, oh, a bomb, or a µ…
The bomb could be round instead of pixellated.

the bomb would be the second reference to a Mac and I equally like the x__x one
DOS is very nice, but I'm afraid lines are too close. Also the Stargate one can be replaced actually.
oh and the rebel insignia needs to be red.

Ah yes, about those colours: are you asking them about the cost of two-colour legends? I could definitely live with a coloured shift layer on the standard (twin legend) set of caps. With matching Shift!

As far as I know, dyesub is polychromatic. it's not like in serigraphy that you make one pass per color. the problem might be with side legends (that we don't have).

Red, green or blue legends for !@#$%^&*()_+ above the main legends of the numrow then, gentlemen? I'd certainly take it. Same for every double legend key on the keyboard.

I'm planning on having the third legend in blue for all keys, but the main 2 should be black imho
edit: this is true if charcoal doesn't actually win the race... because on GH it is going pretty well...

How many third legend keys are there? And are you colouring Alt Gr?
Option is the key for getting åll thøßê ƒäñç¥ légêñ∂s on the Mac, but the only keyboard I've ever seen marked with them all is a Matias; even Apple leaves their discovery to the user.

only some ISO languages have the third legend.jdeblese wrote:A third for *all* keys? What do you have in mind?
not many. I'd say 4/5 per language in international layoutsMuirium wrote:How many third legend keys are there? And are you colouring Alt Gr?

Come on, if it's not on the English language sets – I think there's only one such legend in ISO-UK even – then why tease us! Secondary colours are awesome. Want!

We might have green/red/blue legend on shift/return/ctrl/alt... but those are on dark color, so I don't know how they will look.Muirium wrote:Come on, if it's not on the English language sets – I think there's only one such legend in ISO-UK even – then why tease us! Cool!
Although RGB mods are quite eyecatching, what I'm really after is just one extra colour, used logically across many legends. Shift is the obvious candidate, because keyboards have shifted symbols all over them, no matter the language.

The shift key legend and the alphas second legend red, and the fn key legend and the alphas third legend blue for instance, to pick two random colors?Muirium wrote:Although RGB mods are quite eyecatching, what I'm really after is just one extra colour, used logically across many legends. Red's definitely strong. Looking at my SSK just now (an authentic beige era dyesub keyboard) the third legends on its integrated numpad are a shade of golden brown, in keeping with the rest of the colour scheme. The Alts are green, as always on IBMs, although there are no green legends on the other keys for them to match to.
Maybe something like that brown could work for our shift row. Not blazing, but subtle.

well a dark gray might work, but I'd need to do some tests on a key with the actual colors. I don't know if SP will let me do that.
