What do you think of this:
Using the icon version of Enter in the numpad... so I get no duplicates (with the ergodox kit) and the icon set is cheaper

Looks nice.
The 00 is smaller than the 0, but they're only neighbours on your graphic, not real life scratch that: I forgot exactly where people put them! Well, perhaps a narrower aspect ratio on the 00? Don't know if it would be an inprovement, what with the altered look.

thanks for the heads up. I'll start the designing the final templates for the legends as soon as the GB starts. I will have 3-4 weeks to make all of them... I can make it.

Yes sorry, I checked again and it is fine. I don't know why I missed it in the first watchmatt3o wrote: We already have the !§ key (or is it the other way around?). I don't want to add more keys to the Intl kits unless really (really) necessary.
I planned to buy nerdom by pair so yes it's not really a problem to me I should only add another ISO kit to have my symetrical 1.25u AltGr keys, not a big extra spend.I've already added quite a few of AltGr I'd say use FN or ALT or Blank or any key from Nerdom
Well, I planned to buy a numpad too for my G80-3000 but in this state I should find a replacement legend for the dot… I'll figure it out or buy an extra numpad for one key :/If you want mono-legend you have to buy the numpad for the numbers, so you'd end up with two dots.
You're right, somebody may need both so no merging. How can you merge ¨ : ? What if you need both?
The ¨ key in intl-mono is centered like a 90° turn of the : key, it may be useful to do like 7bit does for row 3, 2 and 4 keys in SA profile and use the same key in multiple exemplars for different purposes like with [] () <> and arrow keys. I imagine it could be simpler for SP and reduce costs but it wasn't the best example : arrow keys, ^, < and > is a better one but the look may be not in your taste.

I don't know yet actually. If they fix a couple of things on their website, yes, I'd like to take advantage of their system.Muirium wrote:Are you doing this with their new GB system, like the Macross set?
I see your... point (pun intended). Yesterday I sent the set to SP, let's see how the price tags look like and proceed from there.Vierax wrote:Well, I planned to buy a numpad too for my G80-3000 but in this state I should find a replacement legend for the dot… I'll figure it out or buy an extra numpad for one key :/
Yes, that is even more true with DSA. All keys are square and indeed all arrows are actually UP arrows (you can see it from the sprue points if you have a DSA set).Vierax wrote:You're right, somebody may need both so no merging.

Please don't use their GB system. Int shipping will be horrendous and I doubt they will be marking down the value of the parcels. For me that means an additional 25% in taxes on the combined value of the merchandise and shipping cost and a fee of 23$ just to be allowed to pay said taxes.

Yeah, it's pretty rough here in Britain too. Anything that gets held for taxes carries a handling fee, which is often the same amount again as the tax. Fortunately, our customs are pretty lazy. But they make up for it when they do snatch you.
What did you do last time, Matt? DSA Retro was a big GB, but you didn't do a 7bit.

If I had SP sending me all the caps I would have a very high shipping rate from them to me + custom taxes. 7bit uses a system that I do not completely understand. He said he was willing to handle this once, but I don't know if he was kidding or what.
Also doing this directly from SP would make the price lower, have a look at the skull squadron GB. 1 full set for $42. That's insane considering we were in the under 100 tier.

Depends which price. The nominal price tag on the site, or the actual amount it costs for us to get it to our doors.
7bit's following this thread, perhaps he has some ideas. Far as I know, his system is to ship everything as one combined order straight from SP to him in Germany. So I guess he factors his own customs charge into the price system.

It isn't that difficult, at least with thick key caps which don't fly around from time to time.
In Round 4 I did the sphericals first and had a hard time to do the thin DCS key caps afterwards.

add a 2u Escape and a horizontal 1.5u "Tab" and it will cover more layouts (mine in particular )matt3o wrote:Updated ergodox
what do you think? You have 1 additional 2u and 2 1.5u. Of course the blank kit wouldn't have the extra keys.

Don't worry, horizontal 1.5u TAB is already in the base set. 2u ESCAPE is pretty rare, however...alinh wrote:add a 2u Escape and a horizontal 1.5u "Tab" and it will cover more layouts (mine in particular )

I just noticed that the Numpad set includes a dot but not a comma. So I would need to get a mono legend kit just to have that (Germany uses the comma as a decimal mark)?

Do German (or French) keyboards have commas instead of dots on their numpads? I know you write decimals as commas (and thousand separators as dots?) but I wouldn't be surprised if keyboards didn't reflect that real world use. First time I've even thought about it.

The Wikipedia has a bit on our crossed up history of the dot:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal_point#History
It reminds me that anything in old books here uses interpunct (10•5) for decimals instead of period (10.5) as well as hanging numerals.

I'm not saying that it is a big problem. But as someone mentioned beforehand - if you spend a lot of money on keycaps, they should be perfect
Although would not buy the mono legend set just to get the comma seperator (well, that really depends on the price I guess)

There is a dot on the cheap Logitech I used before but I already saw a comma on some old and heavy PS/2 rubber domes : I really don't know why most azerty boards keep the qwerty dot and have in the same key an additional « Suppr » legend instead of "Del" (it's the part of the French's charm, the Belgian azerty has more sense)Muirium wrote:Do German (or French) keyboards have commas instead of dots on their numpads? The bad thing about that . , mess-up is that some software is too stupid to handle it correctly.
Entering 37.44 EUR at ebay.de gives 37440 EUR.
Some sites want to be clever and turn previously entered values into numbers with . instead of comma according to user's locale setting, but can't handle these, with the consequence that I have to turn them into , before submitting even if I don't want to change any field.
