Yep I'm afraid that is an lk4r keyboard for vt5x0 series terminals, made by cherry but using the original tooling. Rather unimpressive rubber dome affair...

It's a KB-102A as written on eBay. Details here:
http://sandy55.fc2web.com/keyboard/acer_kb101a.html
I don't understand any of what Sandy's written. The gem has to be this translation:
But yes, it appears to be outwardly identical to one variety of 6011/6012:

Acer chopped and changed cases all the time. As for the model numbers, it may be that, like NMB, they realised that having different keyboard series described using the same model numbers (just the count of keys) was silly. They moved to a new number format:
601X: mechanical
631X: semi-mechanical
651X: dome

I'm quite tempted by the Realforce, but the seller won't ship internationally. Gah!
I should probably wait out for either a 55g or HHKB or Novatouch, anyway.

I was about to say that someone got a nice steal on that RealForce. €100 for a JIS with yellow caps. "Like new", but pictures speak louder than words:

Well, in software on your computer. Realforces aren't programmable, and this one is USB so I couldn't pop it straight into Soarer's Converter and get cracking. Still would have made a nice pair with my yellow Ducky though…

That is the Realforce 91UBY and was sold by The Keyboard Company in 2010. That price is a steal! They were something like 270€ at the time. I own one myself and I love that keyboard, one of my favourite ones.Muirium wrote:I was about to say that someone got a nice steal on that RealForce. €100 for a JIS with yellow caps. It was me who bought it, because was curious to try Topre, and the price was really good. I even got the board today already, because the seller incidentally was visiting my town. It's actually in good shape, other than the picture would suggest. The seller cleaned the keys, the keycaps have no shine or signs of wear whatsoever, and the switches seem to feel all the same so I assume there's not too much wear on them.
So far I have to say I'm a bit underwhelmed by the praised Topre feel. It feels pretty much like a good rubberdome. The higher actuation point doesn't really do a lot for me as I'm almost always buttoning out anyway. I will try it for at least a week though, and if the impression stays the same, I will offer it on the marketplace for the price I got it for.

Ah, lucky you Halvar! I was looking for a proxy when you bought it. I'll probably be interested if you do decide to sell it on. I'd say give it some time first, though: when I first used a friend's HHKB I was a bit underwhelmed to begin with but it settled in well.

Yup, same sentiment here too: give it a week and see how your other boards feel after that. Topre's the kind of thing to grow on you. I find it's a switch that's for the last hour you're typing, rather than the first.
Absolutely blows tactile MX away for me. I love that smooth tactile curve, and the high activation point is a significant win over buckling spring, even if I bottom out on both of them. I hit buckling spring much harder to ensure I get there, but with Topre I can tickle it much like MX reds.
I still love buckling spring for its sound and personality, and I'm in the middle of falling for tactile Alps. But damped Topre, which I haven't tried yet, is dangerously likely to be my ultimate switch.

Congrats on that Topre steal Halvar !! I paid € 140,00 for mine here at deskthority. But even that was an ok price. 100 Euros is very good for a Topre Realforce 91UBY in good condition. WOW. I might have bought that even though I allready have one. Nice yellow caps too
