The bot answers whan he feels like to answer. In fact, the bot sleeps most of the time and when he wakes up, he processes the few orders that came in.

Ah, I didn't included the keyword ADDRESS, I thought that was part of the address itself
Did you could have some Matias switches (or at least a single one) ? I would like to get this order for switch testing and I would like to have an example of this one too :/
thx

ALPS ? I thought that Matias were a different manufacturer "based" on the alps, so hum... ?
Btw are those ALPS / Matias able to use the same keycaps as the needed for the Cherry switches ?

No, Alps and MX are incompatible.
Matias switches are quite nice, and as authentic as Alps go nowadays, as Alps stopped making switches!

I must try those Matias then, by some reason Im not convinced by the cherry keys, specially the clicky ones, i want something more like ibm (not about the heavy pressure but about feeling)
But after a long research, im simply unable to found where to buy keycaps for them, may I should use cherry keycaps with some glue then

My idea is to build 2 ergodox keyboards with possible some phisical layout (position) modifications, using Matias switches, the only problem is... where I can find keycaps to put on them ?

For blanks, go to the signature plastics inventory : there is some alps caps, at least in DSA 1unit. For legended, find some old boards sometimes you can see some sold here in the market place.Thanatermesis wrote:My idea is to build 2 ergodox keyboards with possible some phisical layout (position) modifications, using Matias switches, the only problem is... where I can find keycaps to put on them ?

De nada,
I check regularly and it seems there is only DSA 1u, no more family or size. So we have to wait the Round 6 to have nice legends and order more and more Alps from here

Yes, definitely! I think that matt3o mentioned that SP can do ALPS caps, but have nothing for stabilisers. We were pondering over the possibility of using MX stabs with ALPS caps for completely custom boards...

above 1.5u it's better to have stabs but in practice 2u doesn't behave too bad so 1.75 must be good. Moreover, alps mounting is larger than MX so should be more stable.
Interresting layout, I like the perfectly centered Enter key between the two hands

I thought that it was generally at 2.0U that stabs become necessary, which is why there are so many 1.75s and 1.5s in my design. Need to use up that bottom row somehow!
I'm not sure if I'd be willing to type on a keyboard with that strange layout just to have new ALPS caps, though...

Just sent my invoice i hope that they comes soon so that we can try the keys before the real buy
What is the deal with the DSA keys ? I really dislike them, its like "not following the fingers movements" (which the cylindrical ones does very well), btw I didn't found the for the ALPS, Im thinking that I could not have other option than use GLUE
