hehe.get outta here! are you kiddin' me? geekhack vs. deskthority? the title says it all.
i can't hide my feelings. the first time i met deskthority, i knew it was the most generous, compatible forum ever. we fell in love immediately. and i sincerely hope it is a mutual gratifying encounter. i missed you deskthority. here you get sweepstakes, contests, upcoming events near town, you name it. and you heard right. we are in love. i can't deny the colossal hard-ons i get after visiting it.
those peoples at geekhack are just cheapskates, pro environment, and feminists vouching for socialism. lol. last time i was there,i walked out with only a couple of home-made cookies. self-conscious healthy geeks, who worry more about calories intake than fiber. nay. i'll pass. they could've done better than that, but didn't. shame on you!
at ocn you have a bunch of sissies and pipsqueaks who speak just to hear themselves. but that's for another thread. stay on topic damn it!
here, however, i have the privilege at my disposal to have an assortment of variety type cookies. hehe. last i remember, i got a bunch of 'em for free. i didn't even asked for the present. they just send 'em to me. that's what i'm talking about. imported. customs cleared. fda inspected? okay, maybe not. lol.
and if you hang out on deskthority longer, hehe, you may get a special treat. you heard that right. only if you behave accordingly. yes. you get pussy-footed responses, a ducky that flies and poops, and a queer moderator look alike lazy marsupial that sleeps more than the two pandas currently caged at firefox. other AMINALS may be seen during season, but currently those are the top attractions.
to sum it up. you cant go wrong with deskthority. it's a private zoo with the extras, something that geekhack has not been able to provide to the public.
i love you deskthority. truly yours. chimborazo.

I don't post at GH anymore because it's a malicious site.Jim66 wrote:I'm still new to deskthority but I think I prefer it to GH. There are too many subforums on GH, I find myself only posting in a couple of sections cos I can't be bothered to trawl through the rest.
I don't post here much because... Zzzzzzzzzzzz.
Oh, sorry about that. Any new keyboards coming out? I was going to check Elite yesterday, but it seems Brian was bored, too, and forgot pay for server time this month.

Hey, you're missing all the fun.
I've been accused of being the most malicious there by lots of people.
Noobs. They didn't grow up with ItlnStln and Xsphat and Welly and Webwit!
The Mionix looks interesting (but may just be a repackaged Xarmor).
Ducky PBT Laser Engraved Keys are the Cat's AND Ducky's Ass.
And these Geekhack custom doubleshots are pretty nifty.
Feel free to ask more questions here. We aims to serve. Maliciously or not.

14821 posts in a couple of months isn't bad for a new forum. In fact it's quite a good start. Off-topic meme lulz can be fun except when it starts to dominate every topic, especially when it's the same stuff recycled over and over again.

Spraying Insulation Foam to remove the ping in a brand new Filco never gets old.
And then there's OCN. Despite barfing a lot on their keyboards they HAVE perfected cleanup.

Hmm... you guys need video tags.

I give you -1 for mistaking psychology with taking 3 or 4 memes and repeating them endlessly in all topics. Such poverty.
But I give +1 for turning yourself into a *cough* victim of evil troll voters. This was a good move.
Geekhack starts to remind me of welly and keyboardlover. At some point, one doesn't have to say anything anymore to strengthen an argument. They are perfectly capable of destroying themselves without any assistance.

Too much meta stuff going on. Ripster is merely an excellent catalyst, being the forum's "idol" and main source of posts.Jim66 wrote:It seems as though GH has descended into anarchy. I have no idea what caused it but there seems to be an awful lot of moaning going on.
Most guys simply have the keyboard they want or are waiting for it to arrive, then find that they can't quit the GH community when they get tired discussing keyboard specifics. So they start wasting time on how some members don't follow some set of divine rules, and all goes to hell in a handbasket.

Thread about limiting signature sizes to shut out one somewhat over-the-top sig in particular
A thread with 11 pages of posts discussing a new rule to stop pointing fingers at other members when meant to harm (Disclaimer: I posted a message similar to this one on page 11 of said thread)

Interesting analysis.
Does that mean it will go to hell here too soon?
Frankly I think they will be fine. It will blow over. Some will leave, others will come. If I'm a cynic, it will increase traffic.

iMav is rather full of himself on geekhack:
I like to disagree. iMav is one of the most inactive users on geekhack, always has been. At some points, he was inactive for such long stretches of time, people wondered if he had no more interest. At the longest of those stretches, geekhack gained most of its traffic. Why? Because of its users. Such as chloe, sandy, ripster and me, to name a few. So what he is doing, he is taking like one zillion ripster posts and all that work, and then claiming it is his work, just like any popularity of other keyboard forums is his work. I indeed have very little respect for that. Geekhack became big despite Mr. Lazy. This is because people were interested in mechanical keyboards. I credit those people. It took an incredible amount of work to build up this community. There was nothing like it at the time (at least not English-speaking). It was a couple of years before GH was a full-fledged community. I am happy that new communities (like deskthority and KS) can leverage the work I have done. But I will not stand by and watch you crap on the very shoulders you are standing on. Have a little respect.

The real reason is that iMav spent more time to delete \KL's thread than on our Round 3 key caps and does not even tell^w report to us what his daywork was by the end of a day!JBert wrote:Too much meta stuff going on. What else should they do! The majority still as not a single key cap to play with, photograph and discuss about! In addition, the delay of the key caps shipping, delays the start of the next group buy!JBert wrote: Most guys simply have the keyboard they want or are waiting for it to arrive, then find that they can't quit the GH community when they get tired discussing keyboard specifics. If there where another real group buy (those mini ones don't coun't ) nobody would have time to think about avatars or signatures, they would only think out new key designs and would post SVG graphics and discuss whether or not there will be a 9 1/4 units J-shape space bar available with 4 off-center key stems, in row 2, for the upcoming Korean MegaPoo keyboard!

We're all glad. Although you're not very dangerous. You've never won a troll poll.
We couldn't find any volunteers for moderating so we don't have any, except for the French section. Otherwise they scratch each other's eyes out.

You actually prove my point that people are committed to the forum and are themselves at fault for dragging the entire community down. Instead of being smart and doing something useful with their lives, they are waiting for something new to pop up and go about posting willy-nilly, eventually pissing each other off.7bit wrote:What else should they do! Luckily this round of troll crucifixion ended with all parties joining in a group hug, but if some had not apologized for their past insults, this would have ended in tears.
iMav adds just another source of frustration but he's not a real factor in this rage fest, unless he would spend even more time silencing all this talk about the forum itself. That would obviously add even more to the hate because GH is supposed to be unmoderated for the most part (although that's largely a matter of users using the report button).7bit wrote:The real reason is that iMav spent more time to delete \KL's thread than on our Round 3 key caps and does not even tell^w report to us what his daywork was by the end of a day!

Hah!
I'm still waiting for more apologies. I only have KeyboardLover's and acfrazier's (lol - just noticed he never voted for me).
But I think that request got deleted along with the thread.
I'm gonna hunt them all down like dogs and spam them with Nickel Pics.7bit

I would apologize, but I haven't been on GH for months. Too childish there and I can't even access it since the worm or whatever.
Sorry, Ripster, for the lack of lulz.
KL's a hypocritical douche that needs to get kicked in his vag-hole. Bitch. What a fucking pussy. That twat was worse that Welly when he fell off the deep end. At least Welly would fight back. KL just covered his puss and ran.
