Looks like one for mr_a500. He's into Kaypro stuff, if I remember!

I've already got two working Kaypros (with NOS keyboards) and both of them together cost me less than the price of this - and that's not including the $137.25 shipping to Canada! I think I'll pass on this one. :P

IBM Model M for 10 €. If I had not bought my current M2 :( .

EDIT: Watching it more close, I see it has missing left arrow keycap.

Definitely get the M! It's a steal at that price, and feels MUCH better than an M2. The M2 is a fine board, but the M is much more solid and feels much crisper. Get it!

Oh God, I don't need it! I already got 5 mechanical keyboards in something like 3-4 months, when I entered this world of depravation, blue/black/clear mx, Acer and BS. I do not want to collect junk and more junk I won't use.

I don't know how it happened, but I managed to send the seller a message telling him I want to buy it. ?!?!

No mechanical keyboard collection is complete without a Model M! Am I right Photekq?

Anyway, for that price, that seller must have a bunch of messages of buyers. But as you said, for that price...

Sucks that the starting price is €60. That's pretty much the market price for that board.

Finally 60%

Holy what. I can hardly forgive myself for not getting that one. :o
I thought the market price was much higher. But alas, only one bid at 27€, and that guy got it. Just because of one stain?
I was so busy today, and apparently my ebay doesn't me E-Mails for stuff on my watchlist anymore. Oh well. Good for him / her.
There's an identical one on eBay, and it's almost at the same price right now, but with 9 bids already and 6 more days to go.

I don´t know if it is interesting for someone. Should be at least for someone who hangs around in Wetter Grundschöttel, as it is only for pickup, and who likes vitange ibm stuff. 50€ seems cheap but I have no idea for how much you usually find those things.

That's a pretty good deal. It's strange though that it's an XT, but has an AT keyboard. I thought AT keyboards didn't work on the XT.

It's a 5162 with 80286 processor.

mr_a500

26 May 2014, 20:18

Interesting. I'd never heard of the 5162. I like it. It has XT looks, works with the AT keyboard and is faster than the original AT.

I wonder why the seller says "PC der 1. Generation", when it is closer to 3rd generation.

Maybe it's a family thing. 1st generation means it was his dad's and he was the first in the family to own a computer. :)
