Following this tip, a trio of us did a little group buy and they are indeed Montereys! Thanks for the great tip, Webwit.webwit wrote: ↑Some NIB Minitouch keyboards:

These will most likely have some Alps or SMK "Monterey" surprise switches.

The same guy is selling the G80-1800s since some years, to the same prices or even cheaper.

Yes. I'm quite positive that those are the remains of Cumb.de where they used to sell for 2€ each, plus shipping. I'm willing to bet that those are the same people who are selling on Amazon as prima.ing where I got a black USB G80-1800 for a good price recently.

Or, POM with white infills on the black version.rindorbrot wrote: ↑Yes, MX-Blacks and thin lasered PBT caps.
I think both kinds of caps are decent (PBT a little better) but the lettering on both are bad. Lasered looks crap from the beginning, infills look like crap after a few months.
To me blacks are cool though, if you like linear switches and bottom out too much on reds. They are actually not that tiring if you only depress them just past their actuation point. If Reds are like typing on a cloud of boobs, Blacks are like typing on a nice firm pair of woman's buttocks
But the fact that Blacks are so ubiquitous and cheap will probably remain their main advantage. A 10€ G80-1800 was what got me into mechanicals.
