You can find pretty cool 60% cases from Taobao. You probably need a proxy for them.

I really this one.

I’ve been following this case for long time ago, to be exact from January. The seller started with a huge stock for this kind of case. Also I’ve paid for this case but what I’ve received it was a refund 24h later. I believe this was just to know the interest, I’ve read that this is usual in Taobao.Medowy wrote: ↑You can find pretty cool 60% cases from Taobao. You probably need a proxy for them.

Later these days or weeks the seller put this offer but with an "actual" stock. Just in case yesterday I ordered the case with a Proxy, but the clerk told me that she cannot contact with the seller
So I'm waiting, I’m hoping to receive the case and not the refund again

just to be clear... you don't really need a plate on this kind of PCB, especially not an acrylic one. The plate is not held on the case, it's the PCB that it is.

Thanks, it's true, but I'd like to know what kind of constraint do I have with the aluminum plate. I've already have an universal 60% plate, but I might to cut it to fit my custom layout, because I want 2 keys instead of 1 backspace.matt3o wrote: ↑just to be clear... you don't really need a plate on this kind of PCB, especially not an acrylic one. Also, base in the acrylic plate, it seems to be safe to open the switches after soldering.

I believe the only limit of this plate is on stabilizers. it seems only compatible with PCB mounted cherry stabs (tinnie can you confirm?)

The acrylic one is PCB only, at least what I can see on the photos, there is no way to fix a stab there (for space bar at the bottom there is no support).

That case does look pretty good. Although the story spells pure trouble!
@Matteo What do you reckon about the Aluminium plate? Necessary? I'm thinking of maximising my options, but it is a bit of a price multiplyer…

@muirium: I can share from my own experience with Poxer X which does not come with a plate, for me is just fine, no flexing, the feeling is nice. I have a plate and after some tests I realized that it's too much of a hassle, maybe on a full board a plate is a must, but at 60% I don't need it. And not plate means also simple maintenance, I can change the switches the way I want with no plate in my way. But this is me

honestly my suggestion would be to place some padding under the PCB and PCB mount the switches (no plate at all). If you really want some added stability the alu plate is the way to go, I find the acrylic one pretty useless on a poker case *which does not hold the plate* (IMHO, YMMV).

Does the stock Poker 2 case even hold the plate?
I'm definitely not going for acrylic. I have an acryl plate in a 20% keyboard (the OneHand) and it adds nothing but a nice look as the top deck of a matching layer case.

On a 60% I don't feel a difference. It's small enough to be stable. But I guess is a matter of taste.

the plate I'm sure adds some kind of stability, but again, on a poker case the screws hold the PCB not the plate. So...
the real advantage of having a plate would be to be able to use costar stabs instead of the smooshy cherry, but these plates are not costar compatible.
anyway if tinnie has sold out the alu plates I can have some laser cut later (with costar compatibility).
