I luckily got the beam spring on ebay.de. It was only up for 24 hours I think, so it was really easy to miss.
Which means I will have two beam spring boards when it arrives. I don't really need two -- will decide on what to do when I have taken a good look at it.

Congratulations! That one's a beaut… once you scrub the caps!
First beam spring I've seen that was made in Greenock. (The local one here is Italian made, but UK layout.) Now I'm beginning to feel like Mr. A500: bring those beam springs home!

I wonder if someone knows what the black part above the board does -- it seems to have its own cable, and the design of the square buttons (?) looks vaguely familiar from old IBM manual or software, but I can't place it, and I can't read everything on the photo either.

Believe me, I have drooled over that very photo before today! The tightest, most symmetrical beam spring of them all. You're a lucky man, Halvar.

I could go for a 5110, but I'd prefer the 5100:webwit wrote: ↑That's a really nice board.
Two other beam spring boards:

I made an offer to a seller for one last year, but then he mysteriously vanished without trace.
(perhaps I just imagined it...)

Interesting auxiliary controls and indicator lights on the top panel.Halvar wrote: ↑I luckily got the beam spring on ebay.de. It was only up for 24 hours I think, so it was really easy to miss.

Not sure if anybody cares... but I found details on this terminal keyboard. It seems that the keycaps are stuck on labels. They talk about soldering the individual switches, so it must not be Stackpole (which is usually a big grid).mr_a500 wrote: ↑Anybody want a Heathkit H9? Only $62.99 Buy it Now.

Shipping is way too high for me. It would be interesting to see the switches (probably Stackpole). The keycaps look weird - either labels stuck on or separate pieces snapped into the keycap.

The article text reads more like this was one piece of a home computer enthusiast's DIY computer kit than a terminal board. Also, the bit about "inserting the logos onto the top of each key", and the look of them in the ebay photo, says relegendables to me. The lighting on the arrow keys is the best to see this: those look like snap on transparent tops, for holding your flat printed legend inserts.

Interesting little keyboard. Nice layout with Control to the left of "A" and Delete immediately above Return. And a "Who Are You" key.

A little beaut, that! The Who Are You key is best scripted to play this.
A search for the "1445 BC Keyboard" shows that it turned up on DT a year ago. My only disappointment (besides the traditional lack of mods either side of the dang space bar…) is that, with a name like that, the legends aren't cuneiform or hieroglyphic!

I like the way they have the Apple Keyboard Pro posed on an Apple Extended Keyboard II's box. I paid a third as much for the genuine article, in better condition!

I guess it´s the discription that counts, but you´r right that´s not really a great find for that price. And the discription is not really correct either. I´d like to own orange or salmon ALPS though. They don´t show up that often.
It really seems like sellers have more recently caught on to the fact that there are keyboard collectors like us.
Really good stuff like that beam spring Halvar caught are rare.
