I just realized that this keyboard has the same keycaps as this one, which was linked here earlier. I hope someone around here got it, so that we can see some photos of the Microweb keyboard.

How many of you bastards were bidding against me?

Now I have to get it down to NZ...

Nice one! The little symmetric models are making me jealous now.

I don't recognise any of the other bidders: which is to say they don't appear in my list, but you do now! One day I'll be able to tell precisely who's outgunning me at every turn.

Hehe I did take a look at the other bidder's bid history... they sure sound like Deskthority losers :) Bought in last 30 days, keyboards, vintage PCs, blah blah...

I don't know how `little' this will be. If it turns out to be a nice board I may sell my 5251 on, which could use a bit of TLC that I don't have time to give it.

Every little helps…

The fact I'm typing this on a Siig Minitouch just shows how deluded I am, of course.

That makes a Kishsaver a Type 95 Ha-Go then I suppose...

I see the seller has straight away listed another of the same thing (with a higher start price this time—I wonder if he was surprised by how much idiots like us will pay for them): http://www.ebay.com/itm/251598005009 . Also a 24 hour auction, so don't wait too long.

He's got the same pictures and description which is a bit of a worry; hopefully I get what was in the pictures!

There's also this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Old-Ibm-3278-Ke ... 1416593839

Very similar to the one I just bought but without the fascinating/bizarre split-spacebar/numpad zero key (that will be some layer fun).

Dell AT101W at a very nice price (claims NIB)
Got to try Alps, so I got one, will report when I get it!

Been looking at these NIBs for a while (probably the same seller, as they came up on this thread a month or two ago). I'll make up my mind when I see your review!

Especially interested in where the controller lies inside, with an eye to hacking up an Alps TKL…

The controller is just above the numpad, integrated on to the PCB. You can hack it off and make it work as a TKL, though, but you'll have some soldering to do too.

Muirium check this http://imgur.com/a/Rp8yF
Controller seems to be under F11-PrintScreen but there are some components (and the cable connection) over the numpad.
In a week to 10 days I will hopefully have it on hand to answer any questions!

Indeed:

Pictures of the traces on the underside of the PCB would be most informative. And pay close attention to the caps. Ripster's were lasered, but hopefully yours are better.

Dell caps are lasered and not the most beautiful kind

I never even saw that one. I only check the Vintage Computing section and this one was in the regular Keyboards & Keypads section. Damn it.

Now that I have a spare controller, I must warn people that I'm on the lookout for another beam spring. I'll be like a silent shark, waiting to pounce. (Sharks don't really "pounce", but you get the idea.)

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. :evilgeek:

Come on, you've got plenty already! Lots of us are still get our first.

25 Jul 2014, 20:19

Plenty? I've only got one. I've got two controllers. Simple math should tell you that I need one more. :D

Math problem in children's textbook:

"Billy has 2 keyboard controllers. He has 1 keyboard. How many more keyboards does Billy need to use all his controllers?"

The beam spring you've already got is pretty damn fancy. Can't quite put my finger on any reason for you to choke down any others… besides greed, of course!

Two versions of the CPC 464:

Neither keyboard is anything to write home about.

I prefer the RGBK scheme though.

Never was an Amstrad fan. Alan Sugar is a brilliant but cynical business man and his cheap hardware had no soul or inherent qualities. I liked Sinclair much more. A brilliant inventor and nerd, but not much of a business man. The visual design of those mediocre soulless Amstrad machines wasn't bad though. But wtf is that silly over-complex diagram of a computer with a tape drive connected to a monitor? Why is that printed on the case? And the Enter's ass is too fat.

It is simply a Cherry G80-1800 mounted in a rack drawer, similar to the Cherry G80-0778 shown in the wiki:
