We're getting pretty close to international shipping limits and I'm not seeing anyone else doing it so why the heck not?
Anyways, rules are as follow:
1. Post "Nickname (Country of residence)" in the Thread so I can copy paste it into this post. Example: Compgeke (US).
2. PM your address to compgeke with the following subject: "Secret Santa 2014"
3. DEADLINE to send me your address and sign up is Closed (sorry for short deadline guys!). I'll have everyone's names matched and PM'd by 10 PM December 5th, PST.
4.Please mail your gift by December 11th. While not everything will arrive by Christmas as soon as possible is great.
5. All names will be printed and cut before being thrown into a physical box and mixed around. I'll take pictures of the box if needed.
6. Once you receive your gift, please take a picture and post it in the Secret Santa 2014 Photo Thread:
http://deskthority.net/off-topic-f10/de ... t9266.html
7. Only members that joined Deskthority before November 27th, 2014 are eligible to join.
8. The size and value of the gift is open, but it MUST be mechanical keyboard related, and must be useful (no busted caps, domes, or other trash).
9. Shipping charges are on you. Remember, this is a worldwide event, you might end up shipping to Europe, America, Asia, or anywhere else. If absolutely required PM me if you want me to try and match you with someone in the same country. I understand that sometimes shipping internationally can be hard (I know I had a little trouble last year).
List:
01. Compgeke (US) | Address Received (duh) | Shipped
02. 002 (Aus) | Address Received | Shipped

can I build you an (open source) match making algorithm? printing and mixing seems a bit outdatedCompgeke wrote: ↑ 5. All names will be printed and cut before being thrown into a physical box and mixed around. I'll take pictures of the box if needed.

Actually using my printer to try and get a bit of junk out of the fuser of my printer. It was free but it had also sat outside a couple days and it rained one. The more I print the more the spots are going away so might as well just print more.matt3o wrote: ↑can I build you an (open source) match making algorithm? printing and mixing seems a bit outdated )

oh it's not 1:1 exchange of course (ie: the giftee does not gift to the gifter)...
in that case I wouldn't even make a random system. just follow the order above (which is already random). The first gifts to the second, the last to the first. (unless the gifter has to be anonymous)

ahem... guys...
there's 1 guy from Aus, 1 from Italy, 1 from US... this is barely "secret". The only secret ones are those from DE. It's actually discriminating that some are secret and others are not.

Send everything to the bot and let the bot re-package the packages and let me put the address stickers on at random. Not even I will know who sent me the gift ...
