Oh don't take my word for it, 150 is just an estimate. There is really not enough information to get very specific in the value. What Kind of cherry is that, what is that third dark KB etc.

I'd say around 70€ each, potentially more depending on how mint it is.

50EUR for great condition. More for perfect condition.

What are fair prices for Cherry 81-3000's? I was buying some here and there because I wanted nicer keycaps for my Quickfire. I realised too late that some of the caps were incompatible.

I bought a Highscreen one thinking/hoping it was a doubleshot, turns out it was just a nice lasered one.

Any idea on what I could get for a Focus FK-5001? It's pretty heavily yellowed and missing the little organizer tray. Not sure if its worth restoring or if I should just sell it for the ALPS switches.

What'd you pay for it? Things are generally worth what someone pays for them.

Nice keyboard! Got pics?

Got it as a gift, am worried about hurting its value by using it. Basically, I want to know what a shrink wrapped keyboard be worth versus a lightly used minitouch. The only photos I could provide are of the box...

Well, searching completed listings on eBay shows one that had a buy-it-now price of $349 fairly recently. Doesn't look like it sold on eBay though:

Nice gift. Someone loves you very much.

I say use it.

How do you know what switches they are, then?

As I understand, Model #1903 is the lucky number for Monterey switches. That is what I have seen during my research of the board.

For what it's worth, my Monterey K110-S0 — which is the Siig Minitouch in all but name, before Siig got involved — has the FCC ID: FKD46AK110P and a code on the box and the keyboard's underside of: 310099773. Same FCC ID as the one on the wiki, but the other code is different.

I took of the shrink wrap and double checked the switches, they are indeed Monterey switches, feel the exact same as my Chicony board with Montereys. Anyone have a guide for programming the map-able key? The included manual doesn't mention how to program it.

KB1903 is the AT model, while KB1948 is the PS/2 model. I had a K110 with an AT connector and T1 Alps clone switches, though, so I'm not sure that this holds, but it might be that the SMK switches were used briefly when the keyboard had an AT connector. I don't know, since this is the only data gathered to date:

http://deskthority.net/keyboards-f2/mon ... t9557.html

Once more data is added to the topic, we might have a better idea.

BTW, you've misread the IC code — these keyboards weren't introduced until 1991, so 1980 doesn't make sense.

Strange...might be because it was originally sent in a PM.
I recall you had similar problems viewing screenshots I'd sent you in PMs too.

I've edited my original post that you quoted. Can you see it now?

Yeah, it's fine now. And that's definitely the reason: PM attachments aren't treated the same way as forum attachments.

I'm thinking of selling three of my Model Ms. All work great! All are in excellent, very clean condition. All have brand new Unicomp sliders on the right shift key to fix the pernicious stuck shift that seems to affect keyboards of this era. One is bolt modded. Pricing suggestions welcome.

#1. Blue label IBM Model M 1391401, 08-10-92.
#2. Black label IBM Model M 1391401, 19MAY87. Bolt modded, some internals from an August '87 keyboard.

#3. Industrial IBM Model M 1388032, 11DEC85. Had to replace the controller with one from a 1989 board. Comes with original black SDL-AT cable. I probably won't sell this one but am curious to see what it is worth!

(I'm not trying to get rich by selling keyboards by any means. I just believe that toys are meant to be used, and toys sitting unused in a drawer do no one any good. If someone else gets a nice board and I can get some funds to justify trying something new I think everyone wins.)

My current folly is a particular consideration of the Ducky Legend in ISO layout.

Ideally I would like one with a silver case, white backlighting and brown (or perhaps red) switches. Unfortunately, the white backlighting always seems to come with the black case, and the browns seems to be unavailable in Legends at the moment. So here's the folly - supposing the components are interchangeable, how much would I lose, er, rather:

How much would a ISO frankenLegend consisting of:
  • Black case
  • Blue backlighting
  • Blue switches
be worth to someone?

Other than the reconfiguration, it would all be unused!

I'm guessing the Legend is plate mounted, and you'd have quite a lot of work to do to swap all that around.

As for value, difficult to say. How popular are Legends here anyway? I don't recall seeing anyone showing one off.

I understand the Legend is plate mounted, though there aren't many pics about.

The easiest thing to do would be to buy two (!) and simply swap the internals around. I told you it was folly!

I wonder if a Shine or Zero's internals would fit.
