Now that everyone's seen the goodness of Gateron switches, I decided it was time to at least gauge interest for a Gateron GB. I'm looking for someone who can speak Chinese to help with contacting Gateron. At 10,000 switches, we can get them for 0.99 yuan ($0.16). I think that is the MOQ. Right now, Gateron offers switches in these flavors:

Blacks - 60g Linear
Blues - 60g Clicky
Clears - 35g Linear
Browns - 45g Tactile
Reds - 45g Linear

How are you keeping count of who wants what?

Sounds good, though. I've put myself down for 70 each of the blues and browns, and 5 each of the rest. Cheers.

Well, I was just making sure that I could get around the necessary MOQ first, then I would start the actual GB, which should start sometime soon

Good to know, thanks. Would the plan be to get them shipped to the US first (assuming you are in the US!), then distribute them from there? Would import taxes be a problem on 10,000 switches?

Yep, that would be the plan. And I'm not really sure about the import taxes

I've seen that many merchants on aliexpress deliver the goods got free, also for very small purchases.

Since the minimum quantity is very big, you could for example set up a public google doc to keep track of the quantities, and then contact a merchant on aliexpress to deliver the small packages.

Also, why limit ourselves to gaterons?

This is crazy, I was just looking into placing an order with a taobao agent this evening before coming across this thread.

Be careful with this GB...there's a lot of logistical trouble you'll have to go through when sorting that amount of switches. 10,000 is equivalent to 100x100, which is a lot.

Massdrop is preparing to launch their Gateron group buy, so you might want to hold off on this. I expect a good number of headaches to be had with a group buy of this nature.

Interesting that massdrop is going to launch one, I would actually be more interested to buy from a user in something like this as Massdrop seems to screw us Europeans over when it comes to customs and shipping.

I don't think that there's a poll, but they're just going to do it anyways.

If this group buy goes through, then that's great, but again, the MOQ is really high and this is going to have to be hand sorted. Gateron switches are niiiiice though.
