Based on the build date, LEDs, and label format, that's a Unicomp Customizer 102 (or, nowadays, Classic 102).

Could be buckling spring, could be dome.

It didn't get cold enough this year for the North Sea to freeze, so they didn't get to drive over to Lithuania for their cheap beer. Now they're extracting beer money out of everyone shipping internationally. They couldn't just jack up domestic postal rates or there would be riots — nobody else got their cheap beer either. On the bright side, there are substantially fewer headaches this Spring.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

The Swedish post is cheap! (In comparsion to the Norwegian, that is)

Anyone still looking for Beam Springs? There are two Displaywriters on eBay right now in the US for the lowest prices I've seen in several months.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/251885559859
http://www.ebay.com/itm/221688090065

I can maybe proxy one of these out of the US if someone is interested, PM for details.

$46 shipping is abusive. This is the seller that's sold a bunch of them before.

Shipping is quite cheap to Canada: $37.67. The annoying thing is the added customs charge.

This looks like the same white whale that has been on sale for quite a while. Either that or the seller doesn't update photos.

I was looking at the seller's other items and I found this amusing:

Yes, it is the same exact one. I've been watching the same listing for a while drop down from $250. I suspect this seller has more and just sells them one at a time.

The seller is located in northern New York so cheaper shipping to Canada does not surprise me.

As for the magazine - I bet there would be room for it in the box. :-P

It surprises me. Proximity to Canada makes absolutely no difference when shipping US to Canada. I once tried to buy an item just 150km across the border from me and they wanted $75 shipping. They offered free shipping anywhere that's a US territory - and that included Guam, on the other side of the frigging world!

No, the reason the shipping is cheap is because they're using eBay Global, which can sometimes be half the price of USPS.

The white on black caps are probably doubleshot, the >1u ones are engraved and infilled for sure.
The white on blue arrow keys can be doubleshot or engraved and infilled - I have both variants.
Regarding the switch blockers, they sit on the switch pressing the slider down, so you can use them only where a switch is present AND it doesn't send signals to the computer.

the caps i want are the number caps as the main keyboard caps the rest are of no interest to me. They will be used to augment another access keyboard i have , the switch blockers will also be going on another access keyboard so i can program it to disable them.

I was going to then harvest the switches and chuck it.

Exactly this... International shipping quotes has nothing to do with proximity at all.

On the other hand, screw ebay. I got a quote from surplustraders.net that they are selling refurb Displaywriters for $110.

Can't you just remove the slider?

I'd be interested in two of those blockers anyway.

i don't think i will need them all so you can have 2 if i end up getting it and i don't need them all :)

I guess you could just remove the slider but i want it to look nice :)

Oh good luck! I picked up a Displaywriter for a similar price from another resale site. Let us know if they actually have anything, or if you get one!

Yes, you can. They have two small "grips" seizing the switch on both sides,
and a (very short) stem obviously for horizontal positioning using the slider.
When the slider is removed, the stem engages into the switch housing exactly like a a cap would,
but then the blocker can move sideways a little bit.

The same seller has also Cherry Raptor Gaming K! keyboard for sale, with lubed Cherry MX Blacks. Norwegian layout. I'd guess the keycaps are POM, lasered with infill.

Is the seller one of us?
Do you know if the mods on SGI keyboards are PBT as well?

That's sweet. I assumed that since the spacebar was the only key that was discolored, but it's nice to get confirmation. I would really really love to have one of these, but they appear to be nearly impossible to find.

Well, it seems to be in a good condition (a bit hard to tell from the pictures) so it's still not that bad of a deal.
I gave up ISO over three years ago so I don't really care anyways :D
