Cherry MX RGB switches

I am currently speaking with a contact from ZF about ordering switches.

Once the sufficient interest is gathered I will create a separate form that you can enter your details into to purchase.

The MOQ for this is 48000 switches at .86 a switch.

From the email;
Cherry have 4 different color types of MX RGB switches:

red: MX1A-L1NA
black: MX1A-11NA
blue: MX1A-E1NA
brown: MX1A-G1NA

Cherry also has with and without fixation pins. See part number difference below.
Once/if I get samples I will take some close-up photos so you can see the difference between normal/clear housing.

Please note: There will be no clear stem switches in this group buy, sorry for the inconvenience.

If there is significant interest in PCB mounted switches, please let me know and I can add them as an option.

Here's the link to the form; http://goo.gl/forms/dDpFXWVpyE

I have obtained prices and MOQ figures, please see them below;

You need to make the pcb mount available, and only that. Every pcb mount switch can be plate mounted. The opposite is not true. 48000 is too high?

My MOQ was only 6400, but then I got the info they will be delivered in 2016, maybe later ...
:cry:

$0.86 are currently about 0.78 EUR. This is way too expensive, given the MOQ and unsure delivery date!
:shock:

BTW: 48,000 is what I sold in 2 years (all variants together).
:o

By when you get the switches, Matias will finally have the MX-mount Alps or I'm running an Alps spherical group buy.
:P

Nevertheless, good luck with your group buy!

Ooooh...
Did not see that it wasn't PCB mounted switches.
I answered the form but it was for what I thought PCB mounted switches..

.86? Ouch

.86 is the last of the problems... :-) the delivery date and the MOQ are much bigger problems.

I suggest to ask them for a lower MOQ: 8000 at most and a fixed delivery date.

I'm gonna email them first thing tomorrow to get a lower MOQ, this is early days still.

Whether it's platemount/pcbmount is out of the question right now, get your interest registered anyway, post this to anyone who wants RGB switches to get more numbers!

Ill update you as soon as I get any more information.
