The early 2000s was a great time for a disgruntled computer hater like me to get into OS X. I bought a Mac because I'd plain given up on PCs after so much failure. And OS X was absolutely crazy when I first turned it on. Jaguar baby! Every year or two your Mac would become something quite different as those early big cats were leaping over one another mighty quick. I fell for computers again. It was the precise opposite of that whole decade of XP everyone else was suffering. Good times.
I was too old and jaded to ever fall the same way for iOS. I use the hell out of it, but it doesn't feel as much like home as the Mac.

I'll hopefully know better tomorrow. I'm very tempted to run this on my own, but shipping 5000 spacebars is a bit too much to ask (except for 7bit of course)Muirium wrote: ↑What was your estimate again? This thread started out as Hypersphere's so it's not in the OP.

My whole Round 5 order is about 1000 caps. And the big box o' Unicomp sitting at my brother's is something like 2000 caps. So yeah… 5000 is a lot!

5000 spacebars to 5000 recipients... that's the whole point.Muirium wrote: ↑My whole Round 5 order is about 1000 caps. And the big box o' Unicomp sitting at my brother's is something like 2000 caps. So yeah… 5000 is a lot!

Aren't we all buying 3-5+ of them each? I remember a minimum order size. I'm cool with ordering several white ones of course. Some for using, and some for posing!

i think i should get one just incase i end up liking topre after the euro tour and have to get myself a HHKB.
Space bar shine is a pet hate of mine it is so annoying, i had to buy a second Round 4 spacebar just because of this.
I can deal with a bit of shine on the 1x1 caps but i think its the unevenness of the spacebar that sets off my OCD .

That looks incredible!
Now I will have to pick up a red spacebar as well!
What about the quality? Warping? And perhaps most importantly, will they go up for grabs next week as you tantanlizingly wrote above?

Does the red match the esc key? I can't quite tell due to the lighting in the picture.matt3o wrote: ↑
Either way, I would love that colour-way on my dark grey Leopold.

color matching is 80%, that is the best you can get from an already injected piece of plastic.
we would need to make 10 injection tests with a slight color variation and pick the best one to have a 100% color match. That unfortunately is something we really can't afford.

First of all, it costs the mold in advance. Also, small runs are expensive. And then shipping. I already paid more than $100 in shipping back and forth to China.ramnes wrote: ↑Doesn't it cost just the price of 10 spacebar per color? If so I'm sure some people would buy those test spacebars anyway.

Oh right, I understand; will still be buying one even at 80% colour match, as I really like the colour scheme.matt3o wrote: ↑color matching is 80%, that is the best you can get from an already injected piece of plastic.

Can't wait for these and the silencing rings to be put into production so that I can finally have the perfect Leopold FC660C
