Well that's pretty neat! It may have Hall Effect switches. Someone should pick this up!
I would buy it but - no more keyboard purchases until the garage is looking more empty.

That's a real Seebarting. Old times!
The dentist's board has both the weirdest and the most useful function row I've seen in a long time. If you pay attention when they check your teeth you'll hear your dentist talking in numerical codes. Guess those keys match up to your mouth! Two rows. Symmetrically arranged around the middle.

I'll do my regular writeup when I get it. What do you guys thick about that portable IBM? Not sure if that was worth it?

That could be anything. I don't think that is buckling spring. If it is then it is new to me. I have never seen buckling spring keys that look quite like that. My guess is some sort of Cherry MX board. I *have* seen stepped Cherry MX keys like that and the font looks Cherry-like. Plus the super sharp edges on the keys are a giveaway as well.seebart wrote: ↑I'll do my regular writeup when I get it. What do you guys thick about that portable IBM? Not sure if that was worth it?
This board is not IBM branded is it? I was not able to see an IBM logo on it.

It's got a similar layout to those real old Dolch boards that turn up every now and then.

Sure I've seen good pictures of IBM portables around here. Go sleuthing. They were surprisingly decent boards, if I remember right.

Wait, which IBM portable keyboard did you get? I'm not seeing the link.
The keyboard from the IBM Portable Personal Computer is a lightweight version of the XT Model F (aluminum used in place of steel on the internals, and it's the only plastic base Model F).
The keyboard from the IBM PS/2 P70 and 75 is Alps plate spring, 101/102-key layout.
The keyboard from the IBM PC Convertible is mostly Alps SKCM brown, with a compact variant of Alps SKCL green for the smaller keys.
Or is it that one in your link dump post? Because that's not IBM.

I doubt they are Cherry caps, look at the "R" and the "Groß", and at the "nubs" on the "F" and "J" caps.XMIT wrote: ↑[…] My guess is some sort of Cherry MX board. Glad you got the Rafi board seebart. I would have taken it myself if I had bought a bit less stuff lastly.
(PS: it's not a G80, but almost 100% sure a G81-3000SAD)
I wonder how many tens of times this link has been posted here. I also wonder why it's still not sold. Someone local should definitely take it.derzemel wrote: ↑Highscreen for IBM PC XT/AT, it actually seems to be a Cherry G80 with DIP Switch:

Yes it is the keyboard in my post. The seller said it was IBM. We'll find out soon. I just scored some more, that telephone vintage Alps board and some NIB RAFI BTX decoder. I'm on a roll.

Yup ramnes, but I'm not spending big bucks on all this. That's the really good thing. Here are the other two:

Well, English, German and French. In German and French I try to avoid writing unless I really have to, I really suck at that, especially Frenchseebart wrote: ↑Well obviously it's in better condition because of that sticker. How many languages do you speak Daniel?

You should see Romanian, it's a pain I like German a lot, more than English. And French I've learned to be able to read French comics (BD)seebart wrote: ↑I have lost my basic French skills over the years. Both French and German are complicated languages compared to English.
