I had to pack the Surprise Box and this took some time. I hope the remaining people on the list will enjoy it!
Tomorrow I will ship some more CherryMX orders and on next Monday a huge amount of Round 5 stuff.

So why does one of the random forum banners (at the bottom) present a message to the effect of "Don't come here to participate in (or by implication, even learn about) the Round 5a group buy"? As a newbie, seeing that was incredibly off-putting, to say nothing of completely misleading. I'm glad I had the nerve to ignore it...

It takes determination to join a 7bit GB! You've got to have the nerve to ignore a banner if you are going to wait a year and a half for keycaps!

So true, it's like waiting for the TTIP to be finally approved, and you know how long that will take .

Look, the ordering and fulfillment process 7bit uses is difficult and challenging enough (to one's patience) as it is. There's really no benefit to misleading people into staying away with a banner on the proverbial front door saying "Go Away If You are Here For the Latest Group Buy". If anything, doing so only delays matters. Production doesn't begin until MOQs are met. People joining the GB is how MOQs get met. Driving potential participants away is counter-productive.
The only people who get that the banner is a tongue-in-cheek joke are people already in on the joke, i.e., experienced GBers. I'm just letting you know how it comes across to a newcomer, and the potentially negative impact of it.

Since you are now christened into the 7bit Group Buy system then you now know what it is like. Useless to spell out the reality unless you get involved first because his Group Buys is nothing normal to say the least.
It comes down to what you want from him because he offers a lot of options more so than any other GB organizer so you need to get that understanding first. All those extras will take lots of time and money - off everyone involved. The shear amount of keys and profiles defies any normal description in the English language.
The ONLY reason we still are here because we want our key-sets, hence we endure the hard-ship of waiting. That is why when it comes to his GB events waiting is the FIRST and LAST exposure to enjoy with such passion. I shall never forget this Group Buy but maybe that is what he wants you to experience, like your first new-born in a waiting room, we need to contemplate the meaning of Life when you are expecting something unique and rare such as a 7bit Group Buy.

The joys, frustrations, anxieties, and fears of such a massive/complex GB are all part of the experience. I totally accept that. I'm in (and for quite a sum of $$$ to boot) despite its peculiarities. It is what it is, and if one wants those tasty SAs, one must take the crunchy with the smooth. It hurts to have to wait, but it probably builds character...

Deadline is today huh? Does that also mean the orders are locked in? Because I was sort of hoping to at least get a look at the Group 5 Honey keys before I really pull the trigger on Group 5a, eventhough I've already paid in full.
The only difference being that group 5 ends in jubilant triumphant joy and TTIP ends in a soulcrushingly oppressive globalist corporatist society in what amounts to a sort of second industrial revolution as far as worker welfare is concerned.

No, tomorrow (8/15) is just when 7bit clears out "zombie" orders...presumably defined as orders that were placed quite some time ago and don't have at least 50% payment in. I believe you can continue to order until they run out of the fixed quantities of each item, whenever that may be.
