If everybody thinks like you, there will be enough orders to lower prices.

Idea: bargain packs for completists. How about those cursorhands in a 4 pack for ALL THE COLOURS? Well, I guess 4 isn't all of them actually… But BLACK, RED, GREY and BLUE are the ones I care about.

Yes, I did this for the lotus keys already, why not for other colors.

zslane wrote: In what way and/or to what extent does adding new keycaps/legends to the list delay the process of getting Round 5a into production?
No extra delay. Adding more stuff is a normal process in every real group buy. This will for sure not happen in lame wannabe group buys, like what people run over PMK or ALTCTRL etc.

There's two sorts of addition: actual new stuff, and mere re-arrangements of existing stuff.

The former is a source of manufacturing delays and repricing concerns. The latter is simply a matter for 7bot.

So I suggest the latter!

Nothing has been ordered yet, so no manufacturing delay.

More options means more customers.

Definitely going to order more. Missed the locked-in rate deadline, but that's what I get; if only I didn't keep adding to my order! Have to pay off what I have first before ordering more Round 5a goodies...

6U and 6.5U spacebar options would be great, has anyone ever asked SP about it ?

Needs new molds. $$$$. As in literally in the 4 figure range.
7bit wrote: Nothing has been ordered yet, so no manufacturing delay.
That's not what happened last time. Round 5 kicked off in 2013, slipped to 2014 because of your new stuff, and then slipped to 2015 because SP bumped it too! If we'd finalised the order in 2013, we could have shipped 12+ months earlier!

Any updates on shipping? I've got this sad board just sitting here:

I'm afraid my Modern Selectric order is going to get here first. I did what 7bit said and ordered more, but that seems to have pushed me further back in the queue. That'll teach me!

You are the one who has been chosen by the almighty bot, to pay for the tools, that will give us 6 and 6.5 units in space bar heaven!

Adapting the 6.25 space bars to 6.0 isn't too difficult... I've converted three space bars so far for my Cherry G80-11900.

What you need to do:
- identify the section of the space bar with the larger empty space between the mounting positions
- identify your band saw and cut exactly 3.8 millimeters out of the larger empty space section
- identify your 320 grit sandpaper and remove an additional 0.8mm total from both cut edges of the space bar
- identify that the space bar now has 4.6mm of material removed
- identify the plastic dust created from sanding. Combine the plastic dust with two-part epoxy to create a colour-matched bonding agent
- identify that you have bonded the two pieces of the space bar back together with little or no seam between the pieces

I like that recipe. Left as an exercise to the reader: identify all the pitfalls ... :geek:

Is it possible, that someone who has PayPal and knows how to pay, makes a how2 guide with pictures?
:-)

@Halvar : The first pitfall I can immediately identify is that it would take me 20 prototypes to be able to produce something that doesn't look like it's been salvaged from Chernobyl.

Be careful!
:-)

On request by some user, I've added a CHERNOBYL key (radio activity sign) to Round 3. A few months later, an earthquake destroyed a nuclar reactor near Fukushima.

I have discovered that I am lousy at following instructions. Today was my 3rd attempt to pay my invoice with PayPal. I hope it works this time! Looking forward to eventually receiving my order for Round 5a!

Any chance to add a HONEYB/MODBASE125/WHITE to the kits list??? Would be awesome! :)

EDIT: And I really would appreciate a HONEYB/INTER/RED. My Round 5 collection would be complete (after I ordered those wonderfull violett cream ones of course :) )

I have just enough funds left in my Google Wallet to cover the remaining balance on my order as it stands now.

However, I will probably give PayPal a try when it comes time to pay for the new MODSYM125/BLUE and MODSYM125/CADET kits that are surely on the way... ;)

PayPal is shit, don't use it if you have an alternative!
:o

The reason why I've asked someone to make some screen shots of how to pay via PayPal, is becasue there is that constant stream of people asking how to do it.

Thanks to rjmana, we now have some how2 pay via PayPal.

Maybe it's shit in Europe, but in the US it is fantastic. I use PayPal for just about everything that I don't buy through Amazon. In 15 years, PayPal hasn't let me down.

Now, things might be different in the EU, but from what I can tell, evilcamels is in WA, USA and receiving funds through PayPal should go very smoothly for him.

Imagine how much money they made from you over all those years. PayPal charges several percent on every transaction. Whether you see it, or the retailer does. you're paying.

True PayPal story: they recently locked my account after I bought a $25 app from a perfectly legitimate indie developer (Acorn 6) using my balance. To restore the account, they demanded verification by cellphone. But I never registered a number with them; like I want PayPal calling me! And the only help I could get while stuck outside of my account was via an international phonecall to their US number. Despite the fact they know perfectly well where I am, and I setup the account over here in the first place. Idiots.

Meanwhile, all those random payments in and out my account the last few years (running group buys among them), including a $900+ payment to Unicomp: no trouble. PayPal is just as random as their reputation says.

[If I had the URL for that comic of the monkey darts tournament that is their customer service department, I'd put it right here.]
