Nice early NMB/Hi-Tek space invaders board. I asked the seller. It has white switches. Shipping a bit pricey to the US, but might not be bad for the EU.

That's the model between the XT 725 and the first RT-101 iirc. Mid 80s, when Hi-Tek was transitioning into NMB and they were developing the Space Invader switch further. NMB would soon stop acknowledging Hi-Tek altogether. Nice board for sure .

Its also the point where the first non-white switches appeared.Chyros wrote: ↑That's the model between the XT 725 and the first RT-101 iirc. I bought one of these from the same seller a couple of days ago. It will sit there but I love to look of the Krups edition Java Station. Son of a!! This is exact keyboard from this thread: http://deskthority.net/keyboards-f2/the ... 11881.html that I thought I lost to the crusher. And by exact, I mean the same serial number. Maybe the second time will be the charm, although I have feeling b***a may foul things up. I'll be sure he doesn't get it cheap.courtesi wrote: ↑NAN TAN COMPUTER CO Enhanced Keyboard CLICKY KB-6151EN ( New Old Stock )

The Java Station is a really cool piece of hardware, too bad getting one to Europe is almost impossible, the shipping is a killer. From the SUN keyboards Type 5 feels very nice, the keyboard that comes with the Java Station is very rare because it's PS/2 and has PC Layout, I don't know about the feel, it could be just a crappy rubberdome but I would still love it.snuci wrote: ↑I bought one of these from the same seller a couple of days ago. Even cheaper with a business address, then they ship FedEx ground. I ordered two and believe they had nine more in stock when I ordered. They arrived safe and sound and are great. I can't tell if they are vintage or modern Cherry MX. They are pretty smooth but may just be well worn!

But I wouldn't sweat it, my Browns are quite old, they must be from the early nineties but the logo is the newer one.
They still feel much better than modern Browns even if they're not real 'vintage'. They must simply be quite well worn in.
Let me know if you ever feel like sending a few of these across the pond

Another cherry with spherical caps. The label says St Albans Herts. Looks to be a clone of an Apple I type of keyboard. The vendor has authentic Apple I keyboards new-in-box for sale too.

The N in the model number should indicate that these are Alps clones, no? From what I've read, there has been a consistent pattern of A models having genuine Alps and N models having clones.Engicoder wrote: ↑Son of a!! Beardsmore once lectured me on Nan Tan amongst other things. His bottom line, we know little about their 20 plus year old products.

Seebart, in that thread I didn't see where it was confirmed that those were Cherry blue - Beardsmore had indicated that they would only have the Cherry logo on the bottom of the switch, but out of curiosity, did you ever desolder one to double-check? Or was there something else on the board that confirmed without a doubt that they were the real deal?seebart wrote: ↑I own a NTC KB-6151N that has Alps SKCM Blue.

They are real klikkyklik, I'm sure you mean Alps right? If I remember Beardsmore thought Nan Tan may have had their own Alps "clone". But the Alps SKCM Blue in my NTC KB-6151N are real trust me. If they are not, then they are the best Alps SKCM Blue clone of all time, which is theoretically possible. Also I did not mean that thread but rather quite a few PM's between us.
Again, all of this is speculative. My rumblings and those of Mr.Beardsmore.Daniel Beardsmore wrote: ↑Blue Alps switches only have a logo on the bottom. Those look like blue Alps switches to me. We've only started to discover the blue Alps version of the 6151.
What's interesting is that it spanners my idea that the 'N' in 6151N/EN means "Nan Tan Switch" (Alps clone, I presume, as that's what my KB-6153EN is — alps.tw Type OA2), and that the 'A' in 6151A/EA means "Alps switch". It's probably that Nan Tan weren't fussy, but the label might still say 'A' instead of 'N' (more likely to change the label than the PCB). Is there a label on the case? There should be a product label plus the A/X label for the switch.

No problem, I obviously still get what you mean. But you are right, without desoldering there is no 100% way of telling, even though those very much look like other Alps SKCM Blue I own from the outside.klikkyklik wrote: ↑Argh, yes - I meant Alps. Long day...
