Some, and in the nature of a randomly selected winner, such a person can win it. But our previous contest, nicknamed "The Great Unlurking", proved that after the dust has cleared, user participation was increased. Most lurkers are true keyboard enthusiasts, and once you get them past registration and 10 posts, they are much more likely to participate and contribute in the end.fossala wrote:I wonder how many people that don't contribute anything to this community will vote just to scrounge free stuff!

Heh I'm brand new to the board, so don't think I yet classify as a lurker
Personally I think the polls you run here are great, just looking at the candidate list has pointed me in the direction of the latest and greatest Mods and Keyboards.
Also the Filco Majestone 2 was top of my list (after I get my hands on a Model M) so I'll definatly have to vote in this round!

Wow, great initiative, just switched to mechanical keyboards and bought a Majestouch 2 with MX Brown, but I wouldn't say no to a Filco with MX Blue for my second computer and to compare

I'm only 285 posts away from Ripster.
I should post some pictures of my coin collection to overtake him!

I take the one in the middle and use it as a cheap Phantom case.

These are all really cool incentives to vote. I'm sure it will be randomly picking one from hundreds of voters (if not way more). I don't think that really attracts voters to scrounge gear.
