Safe to say I will be bidding on that one.
ARROW ONLY 2.25U SHIFT TOO! How unique can one board get?
EDIT : If anyone is thinking of bidding, please do let me know. Once I decide how much I'm going to bid we can maybe discuss things.. I'm certain that I'll be bidding far more than most people, but it would be nice if I didn't have to pay the full amount that I'm willing to pay

Two G80-3000 from one seller, price is OK, I think. Are those MX blacks?

First one has thick lasered pbt, second one has thin lasered pbt. The thin one is not worth it unless you really need a standard 105key layout with mx blacks (there's g80-1800 with blacks and thin pbt for 5eur on cumb.de).

For various reasons I'm not getting into - I'm not a big fan of GeekHack but this listing in their classifieds is a pretty rare item:
Realforce 103UB 55g
https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=78868.0
This is a pretty unique board and for whatever reason Topre hasn't put out another fullsize 55g since 2010/2011?
I would jump on it except I like my IBM KB-7953 better

I am of the opinion that it usually doesn't matter when you bid, especially on auctions with lots of interest. Snipers can't hurt you if you're willing to pay a good price and if you are the sniper the result will most likely be the same.

Of course you could start the auction with a very high bid, but if someone else with deep pockets gets in on the bidding then you are going to be starting a bidding war. If everyone sets a snipe at what they want to pay, everyone will pay less in the long run because people aren't going to be spending more than what they originally intend.

I'm of the opinion that early bids do drive up the price. If the auction goes over someones limit early on, they will often reconsider and then decide to bid higher. I know this as I often do it myself..Tuntematon wrote: ↑I am of the opinion that it usually doesn't matter when you bid, especially on auctions with lots of interest. In scenarios like this I guess you'd be right. No reason not to snipe really. The only real drawback I can think of is that you don't know if you're going to win until the end, which can be very disappointing. Sometimes it is nice to know you are out of the race early on. It spares you from the false hope of victory.photekq wrote: ↑I'm of the opinion that early bids do drive up the price. EDIT: I was going to add that it isn't too bad yet with the Cherry dyesub auction since the price is still low, but damn, that escalated fast.

Sorry to hear, understand that you would love that set in your possession. I haven't even seen a cherry dyesub in Swedish legends, but I would do almost anything to get one.chzel wrote: ↑Well, that settles it then...It's already beyond my wallet's reach.photekq wrote: ↑Early bidders are the bane of my existence...ohaimark wrote: ↑Cherry dyesub keycaps, perhaps, and MY (ew) switches.

The price isn't bad for everything, but it's a lot just for the board. Here is a Yamaha that looks like an odd mix of Fujitsu FM Towns and Dolch.

Oi, get off the damn computer! Don't you know how expensive that thing is?
I'm guessing someone at Symbolics, or their ad agency, really liked Star Trek IV.
