I see... When I'm paying such an inordinate amount of money for an item, I do like to have PayPal buyer protection. I'll have to think about this some more.

When paying by credit card you have the ability to dispute charges. I actually trust my credit cards to protect me better than PayPal does.

scottc there will always be an option to use PayPal even when I replace it on the web site. I am not closing my account. Just PM me what you'd like to order when you're ready and I will manually create an order and invoice you for the order through PayPal.

We are at the mid point of the early bird round of the group buy right now and have just two weeks left for everyone to get in their early bird orders!
Everyone who orders before the end of the month receives an early bird keyboard - you don't have to pay extra thanks to the early bird tooling volunteers.
We just crossed the $51,000 mark! Now there are at least two well-known individuals in the tech world who have bought one of these F77/F62 keyboards!
A few days ago bubblebobbler posted that he helped in getting Minecraft founder "Notch" to order a keyboard! And the second individual has his own Wikipedia page and is a major innovator who started in the early days of the internet.

If only I could find monitors that big nowadays. Those look like 30 inchers at least. I know you have some of the larger 4K monitors, but they're 16:9. I'm still more of a 16:10 cat.

Regular keysets come with two vertical stabilizer inserts, right? (just want to make sure to have one for using old ISO sets eventually)
Also I would love to order 1.5u Fn keys through Unicomp, but while selectable they are out of stock and will be back "soon". Any experience with them if that could actually happen?

kekstee they do not come with vertical inserts. Unicomp charges $1.50 per insert and there's an option to buy extras if you want them. Otherwise everyone's keyboard price would be $3 more.
All the keys and required stabilizer inserts for your layout will be included, however, so that you will get a full key set if you order a key set.
I don't know but I assumed they can make the keys on demand, like they did with my Industrial SSK style keyset option from the web site.

Looks like an NMB Space Invaders board to me. Either an RT101+ or an 82xx.Ludovician wrote:What is that, a Chicony?

Too lazy to read up on all the previous pages here, so the custom PAINT jobs will be Sprayed with Gloss top coat finishes applied or is it still all powder coated?Ellipse wrote: ↑Yes regarding the prototype paint.
Just forgot if you order a specialized custom colour, whether it'll be applied like a Car Finish or not.

The paint will all be powdercoated. I have specified no glossiness so that they will match the originals. The prototypes came out too glossy for my taste - I prefer a dull powdercoating finish.

Here's the order breakdown so far for those interested (just the main accessory items' orders listed):
118 keyboards: 57 F62 and 61 F77 orders (interestingly the F77s are now in the lead!)
577 extra assembled flippers+springs
370 extra barrels
20 sets of Industrial SSK blue key sets (12 keys per set)
16 sets of front-printed F1, etc. keys
14 pairs of extra steel spacebar tabs
11 extra F62/F77 cases
7 of 13 early bird tooling volunteers have paid so far (one paid more than their $100 share so we did not need anyone else!)
5 extra PCBs
4 Apple/Mac Command/Option keys
2 keyboards upgraded to DHL Express shipping from sea mail

There was never any doubt at all, the F77 is simply too sexy to ignore .Ellipse wrote: ↑118 keyboards: 57 F62 and 61 F77 orders (interestingly the F77s are now in the lead!)

Didn't see that one coming (F77 leading over F62, that is). I've always found the F62 the prettiest of the 4704s. But then again I'm an avid HHKB user most of the time so I might be slightly biased

It appeared some weeks ago. And the seller is also selling barrel which he says is one piece of prototype.
I think he is Ellipse, isn't he?
