If you have no idea, why not simply shut up?Muirium wrote: ↑Here's where my MX ignorance comes up. I've literally no idea why someone would want that. Are there customs? The 1800 always strikes me as an awkward compromise layout so I've never noticed.

And, of course, the 1.75 right shift key.kbdfr wrote: ↑The usual clueless cherrybashing…Muirium wrote: ↑Ah, c'mon, it's just a Hockeyduckfritzgoose. I'd understand keen excitement if it was a Sublimeduck. But that bottom row still leaves you SOL. Typical Cherry!
I actually have 1u Winkeys from a G80-1800 on my keyboard,
and obviously also 1u mods are rather sought after.
Not to mention the 1u numpad 0.

Oh, clearly lacking ebay skills of a certain grumpy chocolate bar... I guess the seller got greedy.
@Mu, I was sceptic towards the 1800-layout for a long time, but I've warmed to it recently. Actually I've turned around to really liking it. About as wide as a TKL, but with all the keys of a full size.

Not just today, and not just a little.
It think Muirium should refrain from posting from time to time.
For example when he just has nothing to say or no clue about what he's posting about.
Of course this is a free forum, and of course he can post as he likes. And so do I

I always liked this community the most for the relatively small amount of poo flinging going on here.
Good luck with that.kbdfr wrote: ↑It think Muirium should refrain from posting from time to time.

The no clue thing is the answer. He who truly has no clues, has no clue that he has no clues. I cite the leading candidate as Republican nominee for president of the United States as a good example!
This particular occasion was a little different. I was asking people why that hairbrained layout in ABS is apparently worth something. And I worded my question as I'd actually ask it, with insufficient humbleness for you! But I'm at my best/worst when I truly have no idea that I have no idea. Which is often!
We all have our learning styles. Mine is eye to eye inquisition!

The 1u keys could be used in these ways (just the tip of the iceberg) :Muirium wrote: ↑Here's where my MX ignorance comes up. I've literally no idea why someone would want that. Are there customs? The 1800 always strikes me as an awkward compromise layout so I've never noticed.
As 1u Windows keys on The Cheat - a Korean custom from OTD. Compliments an original Cherry doubleshot or dyesub set nicely! The same applies for many other 86-key customs.
For the bottom row of your WhiteFox, depending upon the layout you choose!
Are you a man with no taste who dislikes the Win98-style Windows keys on your MX5000? Look no further!
Looking for a 1u Fn key for your 60%, but an Ogre doesn't interest you? Perhaps one of those keys would be useful.
They can be used to help create The Most Functional Keyboard Man Has Ever Witnessed!

Hate is much too strong a word. Leave that for charlatans like MassDrop and dodgy sellers. I don't hate MX. I merely dislike it! Kbdfr's loathing for 60% surely surpasses my shrugging meh of the MX line.

You're just assuming, probably based on my 200%Muirium wrote: ↑[…] Kbdfr's loathing for 60% surely surpasses my shrugging meh of the MX line.
but it is not even remotely true. Look at my posting about a 40%:

And even if it were so, I do not seize every occasion to post shit about them.
