I'll be bidding on the auction below. Your first reaction when seeing one of the model numbers may be "Blue Alps OMG," but I did the research and 5160AT models came with Omrons. If someone else gets it, I'd like the 5160.

Well, now that the cat is out of the bag; I planned on bidding on it too thanks to that very same 5160. It could have anything from linear Greens to vintage MX white, to blue Alps, and probably more. Those three are what I've seen though.

People are going to make this one go high because of speculation.

Probably. I was also pessimistic when I said it had Omrons. For the sake of whoever wins... I hope it has at least Green Alps.

I like how sassy that was! Not even a jot of text.

I still plan on bidding the same amount I was considering before. :D

Yep, vintage MX whites! Welp, there you go ladies and gentlemen, just like the bids stopped cold at $81 for the gold label Northgate Omnikey 102 due to the abrupt reveal of the switches being grungy white Alps, here we have another hopeful listing crushed.

Photekq saved the day and the wallets of many.

At least this one was crushed at $21.50 -- though some people might not fix their sniping program bids.

This guy is selling spare Model M keycaps, springs, controller, etc: http://www.ebay.es/itm/einzelne-Tasten- ... 1976894842

Feets were not listed but the guy sold both to me, just ask. I was more interested in space bar, being mine ABS, but that one is ABS also.

Nabbed this one.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Apple-Mac-Erg ... 1913055735

Not sure if nobody saw it, or if nobody wanted it..

Proof that you can still get mechanical keyboards even if your max bid is only 5 quid!

Nice one! I've got one here. They're not the nicest switches in the world but the keyboard is still a lot of fun.

Alps SKFR/SKFS do not feel like Alps SKCL/SKCM series at all. Some people like them, I don't mind them but they are not nearly as nice as clean Alps SKCL/SKCM, quite different actually. They are very quiet though.

If anyone remembers, Kristoffer posted a couple of non-clicky boards with interesting keycaps which went up for sale along with a bunch of Model M terminals on a danish site around 3 months back. I noticed that the boards were still for sale so I got a few of them for myself. This is my first acquisition (in fact my first mechanical keyboard(s) since the early 90s), so bear with me:

Lynwood (lower left below, see thread)
Telerate (lower right below, model info uncertain)
And an IBM 122-key Model M

The Lynwood uses Mitsumi linear hybrid switches, the Telerate has some kind of rubber dome variant, and the Model M is only a terminal version with the fat Din plug, so make fun if you like, but the keycaps are beautiful double-shots and I paid just $100 for the lot, so I am thrilled :)

Anyone know anything about these?

Look like they could be a neat project, or some interesting caps if nothing else.

Yeah, me too, but the shipping is almost the same amount as the board. Sigh.

Just got mine and it had yellow alps not green alps. The seller told it was green when I PM'd him. Is there anything I can do about it? I already have yellow alps... :(

If you messaged the seller and they told you Green, then you can contact eBay about it.

Mine also arrived today and it had greens. I think the seller has one more left, ask him to check that board and send it out to you.

When I ordered my first linear Alps board, the Zenith Z-150, I was banking on Greens as well, but I got yellow SKCL.

They were icky and scratchy too. Because the seller listed the board as AT as opposed to XT, however, I was able to get a partial refund (half off) and keep the board.

Doesn't hurt to have those switches. I ended up getting a Z-150 for $30, which isn't such a bad price.

Like others are saying, because both his description was inaccurate and the fact he told you the board would have greens was untrue, you have a good case against him for an item not being as described.

I imagine he just did not pop a cap on every board he sold, though. He probably just popped a cap on one board and simply assumed they were all the same.

I think it actually looks quite good! I suppose it's just Unicomp innards in a nice M case so nothing to go crazy about. Still a very nice keyboard for 5 euro.

If it's a frankenboard, then the seller also removed the casing between the bottom modifiers.

You didn't get the switch you wanted so you exploited the AT/XT error to squeeze a 50% refund out of the seller? :o . Ruthless. I hope I never encounter you on eBay. :)

I'm actually hashing it out with the seller right now. He said he could give me 108 green switches if I swapped out the yellows and shipped them back. I told him if he wanted me to do that he would need more switches :D

I bought two boards, so thats kind of a crappy deal to me :|
