I enjoy birds as well. Some Crested Caracaras paid us a visit this morning. They are a rare sight this far north. Makes me think that red, orange, black and white could make for an interesting color scheme for a board.

@XMIT: From my perspective in Michigan, it sounds strange to refer to Texas as being "this far north", but of course everything is relative! Indeed, with global warming, Michigan is beginning to feel tropical.

Nice @XMIT. In a better world, tying each keyboard colorway to some specific bird plumage would be a requirement—and in that better world, seagulls and pelicans would be extinct. White turns however would be welcome.

The Silverly Kingfisher has a black body with blue and orange highlights as reflected in this AEK I. The case is plastidip matte black and does a nice job of sound containment and makes this keyboard nicknamed after an aircraft carrier, even more solid.
The caps are dyed with Dylon multi-purpose dye in Kingfisher, Elephant Grey, and Tangerine (in a light tone and a darker tone on the Esc, power, and arrows).

I'm getting the same crazy display in Firefox too, but only this thread, only this one post. Never seen anything like it. Anyone else seeing this outside my screenshot? My PC and DSL are fine here. Crazy.

It looks normal now. I have seen similar strangeness occur when quotes have been fucked up. Don't know if that was the case now though since I haven't seen the post and grasp about zip of seebart's post

Thanks. No not in "mint" condition at all. Yes it is very true that Alps switches do not age well and are very prone to dirt, the major drawback compared to other switches like buckling spring or Cherry MX, these linear ones less so.bocahgundul wrote: ↑@seebart damn bro that board looks amazing and is that a really mint condition green alps?

I just got another X68000 with Yellow Alps.
Also have this NOS (I think) board coming with Yellow Alps. Hopefully it's worth the price.

Oh cool I had one of those I salvaged for switches. Mine had yellow alps. I think I pointed this out in the great finds thread.

What obviously doesn't come across in any pictures is the build quality of this keyboard, apart from IBM F, NTC KB-6151 this is next to none from my 1980's keyboards. The doubleshots are pretty nice but nothing spectacular.Redmaus wrote: ↑Could we get some more pics of this great board?

Oh man that layout is a somewhat improvement upon regular ANSI. I find it hard to find the "]" key sometimes.
Can't wait for mine

F and J homing bumps. This keyboard has a clicker BTW that can be (de)activated via a key combo that I forgot.

Code. Markdown in my case, and a spot of manual tagging right here on DT. More people around here will be using it for array indices and such.
