Hi

Just wanted to know which material does normal IBM Model M cases use?

Is it ABS? or something similar?

PVC IIRC.

Probably not ABS as the cases don't yellow. As Chyros said, it is likely pvc.

Aren't modern Unicomp cases made of ABS?

I think so. I have a few and the cases are indeed yellowed. They are made in 2004 I think however, and not the ones Unicomp currently has on their site.

The barrel plates also make the switches feel scratchy and unappealing. I have no idea what to do with them.

I agree with the inferior quality of Unicomp stuff; I got rid of mine real fast after discovering that Unicomp casing plastic (no matter what it is), will yellow. It's really disgusting. On many Cherry MX keyboards the stock keycaps will yellow because they are worse than the casing, but with Unicomp it is the other way round.

The thing is I don't even know if I should try and sell them, Maybe I should just try and sell the caps or something.

I don't want to ruin anyone's buckling spring experience by selling them a board with scratchy switches and then they think all BS boards are like that.

These cases also have no logo and are very cheaply made. The feet feel like they will break every time you flip them out as well.
