Oh sh.. I have one of those 2464 SSKs with missing keycaps! I need this!!! (..though at that price, the TCO for my SSK becomes a bit too high. I've PM'ed the seller though.
Would anyone be interested in splitting one of those? I need the "2" keycap and the arrow keys, and I'd like the "Esc" and F1-F10 keys (though I'm flexible if the price split is right). And you get to keep the working grey-label Model M, which should be worth a little on its own.

Haha well I can definitely confirm not ALL MCK-142Pros have SKBMKhronokrator wrote:Not sure about "genuine" Alps, Chyros. I have a working theory all Ortek 142s shipped with SKBM Simplified switches, and I think this one's no exception--the upside down bold Alps logo is a fairly telltale sign of Simplified White Alps, which are pretty yucky switches IMO.![]()
In any case, yes, it's probably overpriced for the condition it's in. Ohaimark's board was in MUCH better condition, excepting the switches themselves.
$125 is actually about how much that NIB German 142 sold for back in January, so yeah, I think the seller is overreaching here.

Ah man, it figures that Chyros would have seen or owned the rare MCK-142 that came with actual Alps switches. ![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)
All the ones I've seen--which granted is not a huge sample size--have been simplified Alps. I bow before your superior Alps knowledge, however, Chyros.

Getting dangerously close to my birthdate!
I'm happy it doesn't match, otherwise I'd have had to buy that overpriced standard M.![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

In fact, if there isn't some model F XT prototype from 1980, I am only left with beamsprings, and I don't know if they have exact date printed anywhere at all.

Maybe create a 'Model M birthday match making" thread? Where M owners can post their birthday labels and hopefuls can post their birthdates?

Not sure if caps would be bs compatible or what switches they are but that split spacebar is nice![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

This looks like IBM 6715 Actionwriter, so keycaps should be compatible.tentator wrote: Hey do you think this is interesting?

Maybe it's Seebart's? In that case it has Aruz switches iirc. But yeah, I think it's a resell of that batch that turned up. Disappointing to see how many got returned/relisted Oo .Dra wrote:Watch out, at least one of those is most likely my returned board, which had shitty alps clonesScarpia wrote: Back on topic... Taking this a bit further, googling for ACK-200 reveals that it's an AceKey, according to this ebay listing it's 'semi mechanical'

At least one of these three is fresh, because mine is still with me, and I won't send it back. It has blue switches and I find them very interesting, but the keyboard itself is all plastic.seebart wrote:
