@seebart: Ah, white Alps. Still a nice buy at that price. I've actually got my eye on a board full of Monterey blues right now, should go for less than 20 euros as well.

It's more like "take what you can get" or pay $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. The surcharge for Alps SKCM Blue is beyond silly at this point. The switch is not 25 times nicer. If we find out what drylube Alps Electric used on Alps SKCM Blue complicated Alps SKCM White can be just as nice IMO.
Go for it, SMK Alps mount are great.Scarpia wrote: ↑@seebart: Ah, white Alps. Still a nice buy at that price. I've actually got my eye on a board full of Monterey blues right now, should go for less than 20 euros as well.

It ended at $36 + shipping. Quite a nice catch. That's about what I paid for my single unitTouch_It wrote: ↑ I decided against bidding any higher. I know it's late but if someone else wants to bid, go for it. I thought about it more and I decided with all that's going on in my life I didn't need to spend quote that much on keyboards atm.

Not a bad price honestly. Just more than I was willing to pay at this time.Scarpia wrote: ↑Actually the Orange Alps lot went for $78. It was the Salmon-or-Cream lot that went for $36. Still not too bad though.

might be an ok deal? I'm unsure; besides which, 9 days left.
I know kbdfr picked up one of these a long time ago (he got his at a much more enviable price of €7 shipped, though.)

That KB-5161 is nice, but it's not $100 + $30 shipping nice.
From the same seller, another FK-9000, albeit at twice what I paid for mine:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Key-Pro-FK-9000 ... 1561077438?
The seller claims it "works perfectly" and then says "I have no idea if the calculator works." Um, should that not be immediately apparent? Plug it in, push the AC/On button.

Listing this one again since people are flakes when it comes to bidding on boards. Buyer told me he didn't think the bidding would end so low and that he was going to get another board instead. Definitely a great reason and exactly how one should handle bidding on eBay.

Model F AT for $40!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Origina ... 2208973821
I set my aside for a year or so, using a Model F terminal, but did a keypad tweak recently, and went back to the AT after that. Great keyboard for modding.

What? The ending price was too low for the buyer? Then just ask him 200$ more.E3E wrote: ↑Buyer told me he didn't think the bidding would end so low and that he was going to get another board instead. Definitely a great reason and exactly how one should handle bidding on eBay.

The caps on that Monterey look just like the caps on my Zenith btw. I wonder who made them. They don't look like they were made by Tai-Hao.

From what I have seen in the last month or so the prices for Alps SKCM Blue on GREEDbay will continue to stay crazy high which partially is our own fault just like kbdfr said. Our own hype is swashed to GREEDbay via Reddit etc. Pathetic.Khers wrote: ↑That buyer totally makes sense.

Yeah, exactly. I was thinking the same thing. I had always just imagined that the ZKB-2 used Alps-made caps like the Zenith Z-150, much like the Leading Edge DC-3014 and DC-2014 both used Alps-made caps. I was surprised when a friend of mine told me that they were different and showed me some pictures.Chyros wrote: ↑The caps on that Monterey look just like the caps on my Zenith btw. They do look very similar to those found on the Monterey as well as on my NTC 6151N and I think even some Chicony boards, but that's at a glance, since I've never handled a Chicony.
They're lower profile than standard Alps and Tai Hao profile.
