I'd need a new switch, too

And I don't intend to solder MY switches. The board alone raises enough interest

Did you try to sell it here? Because those caps are pretty nice.

Oh you're very welcome, although I don't post the links
just for you.

That's a pretty good price for a RF if it is in good shape.

No, I have some more stuff to sell, so I put it all up on eBay. I try to get a good price to finance a nice headphone and amplifier from stax

Sorry I missed the "Dibs", saw only the cat making big eyes, which looked more like surprise than like greed.
Maybe we should make it sort of a group buy? Everyone interested gets two of them and the rest gets sent to Beardsmore.

In case that group buy of Sasse switches happens, you can count me in for one or two switches as well. Unless someone needs all 40, in which case they should have them.

I'll end those auctions on eBay in the next days...

But MY isn't a soldered switch and even then you can remove the stem without having to unmount it

My point was not your offer on eBay, on the contrary I am trying to
i) boost your sale wherever it takes place and
ii) contribute to having that poor keyboard fixed
![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
So I see no reason why you should end your eBay auctions.
I don’t object to eBay sales, but to people registering on DT just in order to promote their eBay sales,
which obviously is not the case with you
(I’ll probably be selling something on eBay myself shortly)

I didn't do it because of you, don't worry
I think that some people feel better buying here on DT. If I find some people within the next few days who buy the boards here, I'll end the auctions. And I'm violating eBay terms this way, make me feel like a little rebel.

Fixing that key won't fix the keyboard. It will still be Cherry MY!

Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of old stuff that is high quality. There's different qualities in old things, many of which you don't get with new, cheap counterparts.
MY switch does not fall into that category for me. Black MY is okay; if I had one that works with a machine I am using, it would be fine. White MY is just bad, probably already when it left the factory. Maybe I am just not into wet newspaper, though.

The only thing worth anything in this case are the keycaps.

Of course I agree with your opinion on white MY switches,
but this keyboard is still a nice thing and it’s a pity to see it missing a cap and a switch.
Have you never repaired an old bike just to have it fixed no matter how bad it is?
By the way, here’s another keyboard I wouldn’t want to use for typing:

Well, cable seems nice. And maybe that sticker could be used for a custom IBM square sticker.

Same (but with even more LCD caps) as shown
here by Halvar.
I wonder why repairing a switch and providing a cap for a G81-3000 SAD is frowned upon
while dozens of people care to bolt-mod ugly IBM keyboards which obviously break by design

Smiling at the sight of Kbdfr bashing IBM in my absense. All's right with the world.

While we're bashing IBM keyboards (secretly hoping to magically cause the prices to plummet on mint condition SSKs and Kishsavers) let's not forget about the embarrassing 2KRO!
