Awesome. I've never actually seen a M5-1 before.emdude wrote: ↑Yup! It will be interesting to see if someone actually buys it. This is the first NIB XT I've seen myself.
Anyhow..

IBM Model M5-2: http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-Model-M-M5- ... SwIjNXJm3l
The M5-1 seems to be somewhat rarer than the M5-2; I've seen the latter a few times the past couple of months. I do like that they have detachable SDL cables unlike the M13/15.

Me neither, I'd been wondering if there was one considering the more well-known M5-2.Touch_It wrote: ↑Awesome. I've never actually seen a M5-1 before.emdude wrote: ↑Yup! It will be interesting to see if someone actually buys it. This is the first NIB XT I've seen myself.

They're both very ugly IMO, it's like they have a tumor or something, but still an interesting board for sure .

Condition is amazing on that SAU. Really, it looks brand new. I would certainly expect to pay near $400-500 for a model like that if I were in the market for one.
Nothing wrong with a bit of greed so long as it isn't overly greedy. Bidding would certainly go above the starting bid anyway.

Ok, I understand that they are the best keycaps that cherry has made, but I have never thought that the should be worth more than 275-350Eur max.photekq wrote: ↑Condition is amazing on that SAU. Also, I was accusing the seller of greediness because the BIN is 600Eur (full G80-5000 territory here) and because he has 0 feedback (account created probably to sell only this board)

I have to confess I am the greedy seller of the G81-3081 SAU
but concerning the account, you are clearly mistaking here.
I think it would be bad manners to link my own eBay profile here myself, but with a few clicks everybody can see that:
- the account is a bit older than you assume, it was actually created in October 2000
- the total feedback is 60, with a feedback of 17 as a seller. There is a 0% rate because of no feedback in the last 12 months.
No wonder, when I sell things it is mostly on DT and not on eBay,
but for this one I definitely have to address a broader audience.
I may reconsider my pricing, though.
To start with, if the highest bidder is a DT member with at least 3 months membership and 30 posts,
there will be a 5% discount

Omg! I am driving to work when it hit me... The seller is in Berlin... That is KBDFR selling the keyboard!!!!.
5 seconds after, i heard the phone notification and what do you know, it is you. (Fuck!... I made a fool of myself once again)
Hmm... Regarding the feedback as a seller, I saw the listing on the phone and it shows only the last 12months. I have to dig a bit in the ebay app to see older feedback. For this I am in the wrong and I am sorry.

@Zuglufttier: You know what, that's not a bad visual for a header image: Picture a tight crop around a pair of blue Alps switches, doused in gasoline and fully ablaze atop a slightly-melted Leading Edge badge. The blue sliders in razor sharp focus; subtle bokeh around the flames. Zen.

That would make a nice hobby! Seeking rare items and destroying them for pleasure pn public display. It's almost the same as buying rare keyboards and never using them. The second is even more masochistic and gets way less attention...Scarpia wrote: ↑@Zuglufttier: You know what, that's not a bad visual for a header image: Picture a tight crop around a pair of blue Alps switches, doused in gasoline and fully ablaze atop a slightly-melted Leading Edge badge. No that's not the same, and we have quite a few people here buying rare keyboards and never using them which is their good right.zuglufttier wrote: ↑That would make a nice hobby!
