I don't mind the Command symbol getting nixed. The diamond is enough for me. If GMK has that, I want! We still need something good to replace the Menu key. I'd take a 1.25u bottom row Fn to along with two diamonds.

What I can see myself working towards is the "MX based HHKB" aka Infinity 60%


The actual keycap set I am trying to complete/upgrade here (HAD) comes with 1.5u mods and 1u arrow keys of the same profile and a 7u space bar. Everything you need to fill your classic HHKB Pro bottom row.

Also I don't think any PCB I am aware of supports 1u/1.25u mod combinations.

Really curious what kind of 1.25u mods GMK can offer but so far I haven't seen anything that's not in the HADapter kit already.

No worries, Wodan. I actually have multiple uses in mind for these caps. The obvious one is a staightforward ANSI 1.25u TKL, like the NovaTouch:



Another is for HHKB split Shift customs, like my first MX board here:



And finally there's my need for an ISO 1.25u patch for my ANSI Cherry doubleshots set, for boards like the Granite Lamit here:



That board came with a confusing set of non-alphabetical lasered Cherry PBT caps. Using it with a mix of PBT and ABS Cherries is a bit suboptimal, and I'd like to improve it too.

So many birds for one stone! But that's precisely what I'm always looking for in my caps. Granite is such a huge winner that way. I'm essentially trying to extend my Cherry doubleshots into that same kind of reach.

Fully agree, I just want this to be a success. Best case scenario we could be running semi-annual rounds of classic beige kits with more highly desirable caps. First round will be played safe though.

I got 1u row 5 PBT dyesub windows keys somewhere else, but I should agree that 2 1u windows keys should be handy.

The 1u mods must be R5-Profile to be useful and I don't see any R5 stuff going on this first round.

Haven't you decided on the Caps Lock / Control key's legend already? I'd like to avoid the silly purse, but I think other people had already swayed you towards that. The 1.75 unit Control lives in the HADditional kit so the base only needs a Craps Lock.

As for those 3 undefined 1.25 unit keys: I'd like a pair of single chevron keys, as on the HHKB.

I updated the HADapter kit mockup. Handbag makes sense, it's the best compromise between the initial idea behind the kit and making it a little more ISO-International.

We will see what 1.25u R4 keys GMK can provide. I don't think the budget for the HADditionals kit covers molds for that many new keys. If we can get GMK to make one new mold for each kit, we're already making progress

Every future GMK GB will then be able to include these keys at no additional charge.

And I love the idea of turning Cherry classic beige sets into granite-like universal kits. There's tons of alphanumeric kits out there already, it's up to us to make novelties widely available.

The only novely we're got here so far is the DT logo key. I thought that was worth asking for in the first iteration, making it a part of all future kits. Show some love for the home team!

I'd love to see the Amiga-A keys being made in doubleshot one day. The HHKB Diamond keys are also very nice. Just looking through past Granite drops will bring up a gazillion of awesome key designs for possible future rounds.

I think the GB will be really good, If anything stays as now (except the not allready know legends) I will definitely buy it. The "purse" symbol is good, I ever wanted one and its more universal than the arrow or plain text (or text with arrow).

Having a non Windows logo key would be a big selling point in my opinion. I mean I will probably buy it either way, but the inclusion of it would make the keyset more unique.

Both kits look really great. I will definitely be buying both.

I'm still sad about no stepped R3 ctrl key, as that would allow for correct legends on custom keyboards that only allow stepped caps locks. All of the OTD custom keyboards for example.

Why? Having pad-printed Windows logos from the nineties instead of doubleshot current Windows logos makes no sense to me. Microsoft wasn't any better in the 1990s than it is now... If we don't want the current Windows logo I'd rather have double shot cherries or diamonds or something instead.
