Does anybody know where Ivan is? I've sent him a PM asking about a shipping number as I'm yet to receive my keycaps about a month ago. Until now I didn't receive an answer. Has anybody some information?

Do you have any idea what happened, Nacho?
Ivan is gone and there is no doubt his last GBs were outright scams. He posted status updates that turnes out to be lies and has stopped responding on all channels for a few weeks now. Chances of getting stuff from him now are close to zero

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but this is unfortunately what the current situation looks like. People who bought his PBT Dark or Miami Nights keycaps have virtually no hope of getting either the product or being refunded, and RS84 is still a thing only because someone else stepped in to salvage what they could.
So, Daniel, at this point the chances of Ivan responding to your communication are close to zero. If you ordered not too long ago and the paypal dispute window is still open, that's probably the best thing you can do, but don't expect much from Ivan since he stopped fulfilling orders a few months ago.

Yeah the situation went pretty bad pretty quickly with Ivan. He shipped the PBT round 4 as he had already received it and he used it to make it look like he had returned and everything would get started again. There were people thinking about making claims but as soon as the topic came up he came back and said he would start shipping and working again. That was when PBT round 4 was shipped and afterwards he disappeared with all our money

If it is really a scam, I really wonder what may lead a person into doing something like this. He had spent quite a lot of time and effort making several PBT GBs happen. How much such a "scam" may give him? Several thousand $? Building a reputation for so long just to do that? It does not sound like a great scam strategy.
Not sure if something slightly different may have happened. I'm not trying to play the devil's advocate, but maybe he got into a situation personal situation that made him desperate. One way or another, is quite saddening.

One of the GBs was a GMK GB, so that would have been $10-20,000 worth.maxmalkav wrote: If it is really a scam, I really wonder what may lead a person into doing something like this. IIRC he had been stating for some time that he was organizing those GBs in his spare time and that he would stop at some point, and even before he disappeared he sounded a bit jaded about what he was doing.
As for whether the scam was intentional, no one can know. It's entirely possible that those last GBs were started in earnest but that stuff happened, he used the money because he needed some and saw that as an easy solution, and chose to not come back. Or he just thought that it was time to "retire" and to get the most he could of it. Whatever the intention was, the harm has been done.

That's a lot of loot.
I have never paid much attention to group buys, since I am out of the loop on Cherry and Topre. I never really gauged how much money was floating around. I realized that it represented a tremendous amount of work, but I suppose even a small cut was worth a fair bit of commission and made it worthwhile.
He was around forever, it seemed like he was already a fixture when I started 5-6 years ago.

Oh, I see it's not about PBT4 but the one after that. Sorry, I didn't realize.
As I said, I can only comment on the one this thread is about, which went well for me personally. No idea about the later ones. Sad to hear that it turned sour so quickly.Wodan wrote:Ivan is gone and there is no doubt his last GBs were outright scams. So, did he gather money and not then place the GB order?
There are sometimes good reasons for getting chaotic and even going dark… for a while. If Ivan's having domestic problems, I can sympathize. I mean, right now I've got a few boxes of GB stuff I need to ship out, waiting back at home, all thrown on pause due to my Mum's crisis. Sitting beside a hospital bed is no place to conduct order fulfillment! But it is necessary to tell people what's happening when you are in the shit.

Yes, I'm sure most people would be sympathetic if he came back to make amends and promise to straighten up the situation, despite everything that was said. That's what usually happens when a seller goes rogue then comes back a few weeks/months later, for better or worse.Muirium wrote: So, did he gather money and not then place the GB order?

He did post that he had some kind of bike accident earlier on, so a few people have speculated that he was in over his head with medical bills. Kind of a "Breaking Bad" story...
But that's all just speculation.

I had something like this in mind, at least it is what fiction shows all the time about USA.
