Any chance of squeezing in a "fat-ass return" for the steelseries owners?

little chance and very expensive.consolation wrote: ↑Any chance of squeezing in a "fat-ass return" for the steelseries owners?
GMK do not have molds for BigAss Enter and creating a new one could cost a few thousand Eur.
Then the layout changes with the BigAss Enter and a few keys will have to be moved to other locations, so, extra keys in different profile will be needed

(XPOST from GH)
So my suggestion is, what about if we rise the bar to 150$. With 150 bucks we got room for both colorways. Ofcourse there will be people who will say: yeah but i need it only for my 60% board. In this case i just want to counter: Think in a long term! Its better to have spare keys and knowing your keyset can match every layout. It may come you'll find a better board but with different layout and you will have the keys for it. Its a good thing. Also it will raise the variety of colorways. For example you can have f-row completely gray.
Now my question is, is Carbon (with that variety) worth 150$?
Got new render from user VereChi. The modifiers are black but give this guy some props (doing renders is work)
Update: i'll get probably next month gmk color chips

Now i got some news actually. But stay calm first and take it all with "grain of salt".
Got Novelties render from gmk. Colors are wrong, so we dont need to speak about colors right now!
Its going to be double shot not printed! Its not final as Carbon periodic key is missing
You can expect these pricing and moq. Again its not set in stone!
150 ..... 70$
250 ..... 53$
500 ..... 40$
Novelties will be a standalone drop!
Hype! :p

(XPOST from GH) Please read also the GH conversation to understand the context of my decisions.
Here is my next suggestion.
The Bad:
- no row 5! (it is impossible to deal with that row as it exceed the 150$ mark always)
- no classic colorway
- no "Alt Gr" keys
The Good.
- Original Carbon colorway is back, but you can still gray out f-row and arrow cluster completely.
- Without the Carbon Novelty (after my calculation) we are under 140$.
- Carbon periodic novelty.

I'd definitely be out with that arrangement
Row 5 is a must for me. That said, I don't know how many others share my view.

I appologize but row5 is really hard to deal with in terms of balance between pricing and variety. For me personal the 5 row sounds thrilling and i like its angle. I actually dont know if its possible to make all bottom rows in row 5. Maybe that could be the solution.photekq wrote: ↑I'd definitely be out with that arrangement

XPOST from GH
An Update and i hope this will be the last one.
I let it so for one week. If you find something missing (very important keys only) just call it here and i'll be thankful. It's in human nature to oversee or forget things. If someone can get a catch i would appreciate it.
Now the curent and most probably final Version.
It covers following layouts:
It offers also a great color variety. For example you can eliminate all the orange keys (though no legends) and make it almost classic. You have to keep in mind this keyset will get custom colors and you will not be able to mix and match it with other keysets as you like. Perhaps it will be hard to do so. This is the reason why i went full into variety. My goal was and is, to provide a forward-looking/future-secure keyset, Tastes changes but i want Carbon to last on your keyboard as much as possible.
For the Novelties i'd like to skip Lambda because it would increase pricing to ~90$. Also keep in mind the pricings posted previously did not considered custom colors. So the novelties will be like 80$ at 150 moq. Thats much but it's gonna be a separate drop. But i'll check the pricing with lambda anyway. If its ok then it will be added and Half Life 3 will be confirmed .
So if you find a missing key then please reply here. Thanks.

This set is looking real good. Any last minute chance for an additional 2.25 R4 shift cap to be added for FC660M users?

I would definitely pick this up, thank you very much for considering those of us who uses ISO-UK keyboards. Will this be on Massdrop if it goes ahead or another site?
P/S I just went through the layout and spotted that the kit will not cover a full UK-ISO keyboard, there are a couple of keys missing: R1 number 2 and 3 (with the quotation marks and pound sign), it is also missing the keys on R3: Apostrophe/@sign and Hash/tilde), and R4: Backslash/bar (|)
Is there a way to add these keys in or will it push the price too far? I would very much like to be able to cover a full UK keyboard if that's an available option, will be willing to pay more for it if it's reasonable (maybe $10? I don't know how much one single key would cost)

You know, I hadn't realised this until you said. Reviewing other comments, I get the impression this is fairly final due to the way GMK don't do kits in the same way SP do- it just all gets very expensive! Looking at the layout, you'd probably need to use that R4 <> key next to the Z, then the hash key next to the return. It's a shame it won't be spot on though. I think I'm going to be patient and wait for the SA set to go on Round 2 again as we'll get the proper UK ISO kit that way.duynguyenle wrote: ↑I would definitely pick this up, thank you very much for considering those of us who uses ISO-UK keyboards. That is a shame, I am undecided now. I might still pick up the set, but I wish full UK coverage was an option. Don't know if round 2 will ever happen and if that will be the case, i dont think there will be uk iso keys. That's gmk and minimal moq starts at 150. The base kit has already enough keys and there is no room for uk iso.duynguyenle wrote: ↑That is a shame, I am undecided now. I might still pick up the set, but I wish full UK coverage was an option. Thanks for your reply, I might pick up the set anyway, use the EU backslash key and deal with the OCD wheever I look down at the keyboardTombery wrote: ↑Don't know if round 2 will ever happen and if that will be the case, i dont think there will be uk iso keys. Or fit the set to my spare ANSI keyboard, that might be easier! (but then I'll hit backslash whenever I mean to press Enter). Decision decisions...
Do you intend to do a Round 2 of SA Carbon any time in the next 12 months?

I really appreciate you bringing these amazing keycap designs to life and will wait patiently for SA Carbon Round 2 in the future.
