Wow that thing is really has a lot of height to it! Do you have a palm/wrist rest to go with it? I only ask it just looks like some kind of carpal tunnel torture device.hypkx wrote: ↑Selfbuild wood case.

What's the keyboard? Looks a bit like a Tex aluminium case, but I am not sure.BimboBB wrote: ↑Some R5 goodness.

Has a very interesting industrial Look to it, if you use some different caps on it the Look will be much better imo, definitely has potential!
I have mine from wodan but I haven't taken any pictures yet xD

It arrived today. Black doubleshot caps, Cherry compatible. The switches are some pre-MX tall Cherry switch, don't remember the name but I thought they were M7s.

I'm actually wrong, the layout is slightly different to hypkx's! You're right, it's a 9009. I should check instead of thinking that I remembered the model number. The caps are very nice, and what's better is that I got it for a cool 7.50 euro shipped. I put the minimum bid on it, nobody else found it, and I won!

uuuuuh, this vintage caps are a great combination with the minimalistic layout of the planck. Never seen such a combination before.

I am trying to gather a set to try and use on my ergodox, still need 9 1.5u caps and 3 1.75u, to get it to work properly, so if someone is willing to let go of their (prefferably the caps I need, but I can also aquire full sets) dont hesitate to pm me
On the plank it worked fairly well, but the dsa cap on the spacebar was a bit to high :/

Yes, I've tried white PBT G20 keycaps with the flat TA keycaps, works perfectly and is perfectly fine to type on. If only my G20 spacebar wasn't warped...

You can fix the warping pretty easily with a hairdryer and a couple of weights.Nuum wrote: ↑Yes, I've tried white PBT G20 keycaps with the flat TA keycaps, works perfectly and is perfectly fine to type on. If only my G20 spacebar wasn't warped...

Finished my Varmilo VA68M kit today:
For the first time I used 1.8mm LEDs and I am completely converted! The ones I have installed are warm white and do not interfere with the keycaps at all (the ones in the picture are Cherry profile).

Oooh, looks gorgeous. I recently assembled my Whitefox with 1.8mm LEDs and SIP sockets (for stem swaps) and it's awesome, just so cool.

Very nice looking, this 65% trend is an interesting one I have to say How is the board, Fn layer and things like that ?
I love 1.8mm LED's too, I install them inside the switch so that way I can open the switch top without any problems. Also if you install them the classic way they don interfere with the caps.

I should have got a Whitefox, I didn't have the money at the time and I don't really like dealing with Massdrop at the best of times so I missed outscottc wrote: ↑Oooh, looks gorgeous. I recently assembled my Whitefox with 1.8mm LEDs and SIP sockets (for stem swaps) and it's awesome, just so cool.
I have SIP sockets on this too, even though you can't do stem swaps it just makes life a bit easier if you get dead LEDs down the line, or want to change the colour of any of them at all.
Not really sold on the 65% form factor I have to admit, I don't really see myself buying another down the line. I have a Leopold FC660C that I have used for many years and I thought I would like a Cherry one, but in reality I settle for the Leopold because I am not a fan of the HHKB.DanielT wrote: ↑Very nice looking, this 65% trend is an interesting one I have to say How is the board, Fn layer and things like that ?

The function layer on the Varmilo is pretty sparsely populated, you can find a run down of all the functions here.
I think I still prefer the 60% layout for portability and maximising desk space in the end, also I really miss full programmability and the number of function layers that you get with custom 60%s.
