Yep. At first when I got it, I wasn't too impressed as it seemed a bit basic, but after using it I can tell a lot of thought went into its design towards functionality. The caps are superb 1.5mm PBT, the stabilizers are crisp, not mushy, and don't rattle at all, and there is very little, if any, resonance in the metal plate due to its tight construction. Also, the MX Browns are the smoothest of any board I have with them. Maybe it's just luck, but they seem like an very good batch. I did put a Ducky Shine 4 WASD cluster (taller keys) on it and some black PBT Leopold caps to help me avoid pressing the Win and Capslock unintentionally. I would really like to be able to buy some different color Varmilo caps to further enhance the board, but it doesn't seem like they are sold retail outside of Asia. The eagle ESC key was actually something I got from Varmilo's representative on Geekhack's board, because I needed a replacement key and they sent me one and included an extra ESC key as a surprise gift.Stabilized wrote: ↑Is that a Varmilo board? I am guessing from the almost floating key design, and the caps look like they are by Varmilo too.LewisR wrote: ↑Nothing to match the photography skills present here, or the cool custom builds, but here's my gaming board. I'm going to be finishing up Witcher 3 Blood & Wine and playing the new Deus Ex with this little baby. This is definitely the smoothest MX Browns board that I have.

Try emailing Varmilo directly, they allow you to place orders for keycaps in any combination of colours they have available.LewisR wrote: ↑I would really like to be able to buy some different color Varmilo caps to further enhance the board, but it doesn't seem like they are sold retail outside of Asia.

PHANTOM
- Skeldon case (Made in USA \o/)
- Caps are from a weird G80-2100, which has exactly this ISO/ANSI hybrid layout. Love those sideprints.
- assembled by FalbaTech \o/
- just missing a nice cable yet

That is a really nice keyboard! I like that case. I'd suggest for cable color brown!

Those caps are from a G80-2100? Do you have any pics of the full board? Is it a 2100HDD?
Lovely board! Congrats

Brown cable? Okay, why not. I like brown.
Not really sure if its a G80-2100, because it has no label underside. But can remember it was titled as such (bought it 2-3 year ago). Here's a pic of this beauty:
Can open it on weekend to have a closer look and adding it to the wiki.

Please do open it! That's a really special keyboard; it's one of the first times I've seen ANSI legends side printed on an ISO set aside from the 3000/3004SAT.
Is that left shift original to the keyboard too?

Yeah I was wondering that too, why does it have the 'shift' legend on it when the other one is just icon only.

Maybe they didn't have the tooling to make a doubleshot 2.25u shift with the ISO legend. I'll have to check my 2500HAU to see. Nope - 1.25u shift.

edit: this arrived today
just assembled, I'll have to treat the wooden sides...also, caps are such a tight fit on the matias clicky switches that I'm afrraid to take them off

That looks beautiful. I have a predilection for hardwood trim, which is a very 1970's thing, and yet this looks a little bit art deco too.alh84001 wrote: ↑

Got an SGI Granite Bigfoot today, pretty nice board. Dyesub caps on dampened white alps.
The interesting part is that when I bought it I though that it was a 041-0136-001 because the case was more of a green colour compared to the PS2 version (9500900) which is a neutral bluish colour. Although when I did get it, it was infact a PS2 95009500 with what looks to be the same case as the 041-0136-001
I'm assuming that the case has yellowed which is why it looks like it does now. I've got a bit of retro brighting to do and a few more photos to take before I'm happy with it.

Very nice SGI, yes that's right the grey turns greenish not yellow like normally.

I recently acquired another SGI Granite myself and it is also a sickly green (with a banana-yellow space bar). It's kinda amusing to me but also somewhat endearing, for some reason. The Cream Damped Alps that are in it are fairly rough; not sure if the sliders are worn.

Thanks to Wodan and his awesome HADapter and HADditionals GB (seriously, that must've been the best executed GB I've taken part of), my winkeyless can be seen posing on the lawn, sporting a new, proud, DT-look:

Nice!! And damn, the ISO version of the 5140 has a full-length backspace, I wish the ANSI version had that.Nuum wrote: ↑Just got this one in the mail, I love those brown Alps!
I'm making a custom 60% with the ANSI 5140 layout so I can make use of the entire keyset (more or less), but I really wish I did not have to deal with a 1u backspace.
