Cherry terminal got his keycaps

Finally i got one, nokeycaps, unfortunately for some, but i have too many qwertz sets. I'll finally type in Deutsch as it seems to be fashion in France

So it's the first time I have a terminal like keyboard, NIB :D
It's huge !!

It's a cherry keyboard so quite light, with a small flex when i bend it.
The switches are pcb mounted, so it'll be easy to mod them to some Ghetto red, my favorite switch at the moment. The black switches are said to be lighter than on others black switches keyboards but my fingers still hurt if i type more than 5 minutes (girly hands ?).

The layout is quite annoying as the esc key is far right and the fn keys too far up, but i can mod the caps lock.

I added:
Azerty cherry white on black keycaps (alpha num, numpad and ine row of fn) from raptor K1, my best keycaps
Bottom row of cherry black on beige from an old g80-1800 (yellowed, there isn't much sun in France right now to bleach them).
Dye sub color on white new Portal set (not my favorite as the legends are too thin to be easily recognized when you type fast)
Blank white from GB3
Top Fn row from GB3

I love the look, even if it's classical, with a capslock green vim key (for esc) it'll be better from GB4

Enjoy.

You need to order keys from the Noir style and CHERRYBLACK150.

The white keys don't stick out as much as the Dolch-scheme Round 3 ones do.

So if I order "SPH/TERMINAL 1", I will have every key covered on my G80-2551HAD?

Thanks 7bit.
Now to decide if I can swallow the price tag for the set to put on a keyboard that I will most likely not use too often.
I already cleared my CHERRYWHITE & CHERRYBLACK order because it is way too expensive.

Oh and I forgot to mention, awesome looking G80-2551HAD Gilgam.
Mine is stuck in customs -___-;
I can't wait to type on vintage MX blacks again :0

Vintage MX Blacks do feel pretty amazing. I always thought that you guys were all crazy until I tried them for myself.

I don't get that cherry black vintage. Do they really feel different, i mean more stiff than new ones ? The difference is very light.

After typing many years on a G80-2100 with pcb-mounted vintage blacks, I switched to a Tipro MID-QM128A with plate-mounted non-vintage blacks several months ago. I didn't and don't notice any difference.

I believe they feel more smooth. But, maybe kbdfr is right and it is all imagination.

A non working perl script

Self suggestion is very important indeed.

it's not imagination, I have three of those 2551 I forgot which is of Tarkoon and which is from eBay, but two have cherry new like black switches but they actually feel smoother than the other one with the old looking ones. Weird. Date of prod is F36

I believe you, but self suggestion is sometimes really strong.
Just try this :
hide your eyes and ask someone to put on on these keyboard under your fingers (same keycaps of course). If you can still tell which one has the vintage blacks, then you have a beginning of a proof ;-).
