Maybe I should mention it again: The PayPal collector(s) should be either from USA or EU, or even someone from elsewhere as long as he would be able to do a bank transfer to SP.

What would it entail, more specifically? I'm sure it's been answered somewhere in this 388 page thread, but yeah, well…

I live in the EU. I have a bank account and Paypal. But I've never used Paypal for anything other than paying for stuff I order online, and I've never attempted to transfer money from here to a US account (from what I've heard it can be quite a hassle though). Aside from the practical side of things, I'm mostly worried about taxes and stuff – like, for example, would there be a risk of the authorities seeing the money passing through my account as an income and wanting a cut of it?

I guess I've been hoping for someone who actually knows what they are getting into to step up, but I'd be willing to help as long as the whole thing is not terribly complex to set up. But at the moment, I don't really know what I'd be signing up for.

I think the tax authorities in your own country would be more able to answer those questions.

I find this odd because when I ran the SHIFT legend experiment last year, I sent SP vector files (for which there is no dpi to deal with) and the double-shot legends came back perfect the first time. Why oh why is anybody sending raster images to SP? That just leads to high potential for errors. I really thought this was made abundantly clear last fall.
SVG is a vector image format so I'm still pretty confused about what was sent to SP and what they did with it to mess up the scaling, but if SP messed up the scaling it's annoying that they would charge extra for not following instructions...

7bit is phase 1 done or not, any ETA on it being shipped to you?

I can do the payment, it costs a bit more than from within the US, but not too much. BTW, I also try to get a PayPal account myself, but I'm not sure it will work since my old one has been locked.

The legends appeared 37x magnified to them, so they made them smaller. If nobody askes me to re-generate the legend files with the -p flag set (production) to make them in 72dpi instead of 1000dpi, then things like that happen.

Please notice that at 1000dpi all you need to do is look into the source code of those SVG files to see the exact measures.

About phase one production: They had forgotten to produce most of the violett/cream keys. I hope they produce them right now, but did not get an answer yet when they will really do them.

Sorry, I'd do it but I'm heading off to college and really shouldn't commit myself to anything else.

I added SHIPTRACKED to my order, and I received an invoice including it, but it didn't show up in my last one. Should I just add it again?

SVG can store vector data, but the format was invented to enable web browsers to display simple vector graphics. Rasterization is inherent in the format, a task ordinarily handled by the browser internally. SP isn't a web browser, and so handing them an SVG file is a compromised protocol to begin with. They use their own rasterization heuristics to make sense of the SVG data, and it should come as no surprise to anyone that this gets messed up.

The preferred, and error-free way to interact with SP is to provide EPS or Illustrator files, which deliver vector data that stays vector data right up to the point where SP's cutters get involved. When tens of thousands of people's euros and dollars are at stake, there's no excuse, in my view, for not investing in Illustrator and doing things in a way that minimizes (or eliminates outright) the chances for error.

But it's too late to do anything about Round 6. I'm resigned to the significant likelihood that delivery (even for phase 1) will be a 2017 proposition, despite 7bit's hopes.

How can you not messs up a legend in Illustrator?
The key cap legendable area is 0.38"x0.38", so your file must contain some information about that, plus the legend must be in the appropriate size. How can you do this without using measures.

If you give that in whatever measure you think is right, SP might again scale it to fit on the key the way they think it is right.
