Wow. I can barely find anything about that Wyse board online. The brochure says that it's "low profile" though (lol)

Nope, I've never even seen one like that. Just from the pic you know it's older than the NEC APC-H412 or any of the others we have here:Chyros wrote: ↑Anyone know what switches are in the NEC?

I reached out to him because I was curious if it was some sticker veneer, etc. Turns out it is hand painted by his sister, and he sent me some better images back.

That's awesome. I had an idea a while back about getting wood veneers and gluing them onto an M case, ended up just painting it.

I was seriously considering making a wooden Model F top shell, since "everything" is in the bottom pan and the top literally is just a shell, but I have been using mine "naked" for so long I really like it that way. Part of the problem with wood is that it needs some thickness so as to not have weak points, and that adds bulk.
Now, when I get the time and energy, I am going to do a steampunk version with the body of the keyboard still naked.

As we can see not necessarily, both Alps SKCL Green and Alps SKCL Yellow versions exist:Chyros wrote: ↑//gainsborough wrote: ↑

the seller confusingly used both "pale green" and "off white" to describe the switches of both keyboards. I think they have the same color switch.

On the two Zeniths, the first (zkb-2) seems to have more shine on the caps than the second (kbd17).
The layout is actually not that bad, despite the Return/Enter key. As a HHKB remapper, I can make use of that extra-wide Right Bracket as a Backspace, and of course the Backslash to the right of Right Shift is perfect as a Fn key.
What is it like typing on yellow Alps? Slightly heavier than greens?
