The black glossy caps on the main block are from a Smith Corona Coronamatic. Numpad is from an Atari CX85. Backspace, Print, Escape, Control, Tilde, and Backslash are from Pulse. Plus, Enter, Shift, Tab, and Right Bracket are from a Televideo TS 803. The logo caps on F9 and F10 are from an Atari 800 and a Commodore 16.Phenix wrote: ↑Nice! Where to get these caps?
And zslane, if you can find a spherical 1.25u Shift, and a 2u Numlock, Scroll Lock, Capslock, Alt, and Delete/Period, I'll purge the cyclindricals. (I've got some other caps from the TS 803 terminal lined up for F1-8, and/or will throw whatever strange and interesting things I find on there).
I suspect that might be a bit hard, so for now I'm settling with this sort of... winged look.

That doesn't look half-bad, Wodan. Though it seems you've spent a fair amount of money on Skidata+ without using very many of the caps.
I'm glad 60% Kustom GBs are few and far between. Could get expensive.

Thanks for the kind words Khers, means a lot coming from you!Khers wrote: ↑.. Though it seems you've spent a fair amount of money on Skidata+ without using very many of the caps.
But that's not all I've done with my Skidata+ purchase:
You're seeing one Skidata+ Base kit and one Skidata+ Orange Mod kit and THREE OG Skidata kits.
And ... I still have quite a few nice caps from Skidata+ left. Loved that GB and really regret not getting more Orange Mod kits ... so brilliant.

Here I was, thinking I'd get myself a beamer of the motoren werke variety and/or of the light beaming kind before I got my hands on an IBM beamer. As it turned out I was very wrong; thanks to hammelgammler I got this while still having a flat screen TV and driving a Volvo
Bed-hilfe is my favorite. The A-cap is a little funky as it the A is not only double shot, but also embossed. Weird shit.
When time allows, I'll start the restoration, Wodan-style – if I manage to find suitably large quantities of cheap vinegar.
And btw, Wodan; you don't kid around now, do you. Three OG Skidata.

Nice 5251 Khers, it looks pretty clean on the outside. Looking foreward to your restoration thread. Mine is still in parts waiting for me. Once I have some practice from my 5251 I'll be ready for my 5285 "beamfoot":

Thanks guys!
That beamfoot is stunning. I thought my 5251 was carrying a little extra, but it has nothing on the beamfoot's love handles. You wouldn't happen to have a bigfoot vs beamfoot pic in your inventory, seebart?

Thanks, no don't have a picture like that but I can shoot one so you get an idea of the shape which is really just an extended 5251 at the front of the case. Here is a shot (not my picture) of a 5251 and 5285 together with the terminals. These pages have a whole bunch of pictures. I'll shoot some pictures this weekend!Khers wrote: ↑Thanks guys!

This is not mine, but international Wheelwriters have some really funky legends (at least this one has)

Well, they were introduced in 1984, when IBM was using square badges, but lasted well into 90s.
And that leftmost column reminds me _slightly_ of Race for the Galaxy. Come to think of it, it would be fun to actually have a RftG themed set

Yeah if I ever get the chance to pick up one of these locally for cheap I won't pass it up. I bet they weigh a ton.

I think I have posted this picture here already, but yup some wheelwriters do have these funky legends, and some will be in different color than the normal green sublegends. They will be blueish. Need to take a picture and put it here to show it.alh84001 wrote: ↑This is not mine, but international Wheelwriters have some really funky legends (at least this one has)
