(Edit: just saw your layout again - so if you change your OS's layout to German, does your A still type A or does it type Q?)
In Windows, my keyboard layout is defined as "French". If I change this to "German", then pressing the physical "A" key of my keyboard types "Q".

Ah, right - that suggests the Tipro sends scancodes in the usual way. So a board programmed on a PC with one layout might produce unexpected results on a PC with a different layout! Not surprising really, considering the board's supposed to appear as an ordinary keyboard to the computer. Thanks for trying the experiment. :)

Here is an SGI keyboard that I have not seen before. Anyone know what switches and caps it has?

I would assume that it is SGI protocol and not easily interfaced with contemporary computers.

Most people don't even know how to pull a keycap or that it's even possible.

I would think so too, but from experience, people mostly respond to those requests relatively quickly and with a pic.

Those keycaps look alps-ish to me, so if I were in the US, I'd be really tempted to just snatch it.

I also noticed this nice, probably salmon, wang today :)

The font looks like Micro Switch foam and foil.

Sure enough - the FTnn code on the back, in this case FT04, confirms my suspicion.

Folks on Geekhack love to use these boards as Kingsaver donors. They are fantastic keyboards. There is even a little speaker to serve as a clicker. Enjoy!

I didn't even notice there were multiple items. I made an offer too then, then decided to upgrade it a bit, becuase I saw some other people offering, and in that exact point in time it got sold. Talk about bad timing. Ah, well, enjoy your PBT caps people :)

The oldest Wang 725-3770 boards have orange Alps. I have the most recent variety -- it's NIB, but black Alps. The profile of the caps on mine sits just slightly lower than "OEM" Alps-mount caps from Matias, whereas the profile of caps from SGI Granite and IBM 5140 boards is an exact match to the OEM Alps profile.

Gah! I made an offer on the Keytronic F&F and didn't realize he had 724s too. Cancelled the KTF&F when I realized I goofed but now I realize I goofed even harder. "You win some and you goof some."

Also, just sharing this abysmal find:

Because apparently Blue Switch Model F's are worth more than an F122 and F107 combined.

As for that model F, seller actually has a thread on it here.

The more expensive one does have the Xwhatsit installed which does take more work than converting a standard model F. Still probably overpriced. For that price, it should have the solenoid driver installed too as it has a solenoid as well. Personally, I would get the lower priced one and convert myself, but I already have one, so I'll leave that to someone else. The 3178 is the only Model F board that requires an adapter board to go from the capsense PCB to the Model F Xwhatsit as the pinouts aren't the same as other Model F's. I have the 3178 adapter PCBs, Model F Xwhatsit's, and solenoid drivers. If anyone needs these, PM me.

That's nice if it wasn't for the shipping which is as much as the keyboard itself. :x I think that's the one Chyros has, Tesla Hall Effect.
